Hamer content all testing was done with my fabulous black sparkle shred neck Centaura USA. Ok so we been here done this before. I plopped in a set of Electro Harmonix sheep face 12AX7EH, but retained the inverter tube as a 12AT7WA (7025) Groove Tube Then I tried swapping in Winged C Svetlana SV6L6GC's, switching the bias, on my Carvin V3. The results were remarkably like my old 1973 Bassman 100 head on the No. 3 clean channel, like a JCM800 with 6550 on channel 2, and the same with fuzz and lack of clarity on fuzz on the Dirty No. 1 channel. This is great if I ever need these types of amps. So I flipped the Winged C 6L6GC's out, swithed the bias back to EL34, and put the stock Groove Tubes EL-34's back in. Instant tone monster. The question is: What are your opinions regarding current production EL-34? My GT's are not going to last forever, and I try to have at least one set of backup power tubes at all times. I have a set of SovTeks I pulled from my Vai VL212, but I was not terribly impressed with those. THANKS! morningstar

1995 USA Daytona for sale. $550 shipped to the Continental USA ONLY. Its a deep blue trans over ash. The guitar is a player not a museum piece. There are the typical facial impressions all Daytonas seem to gather. A prior owner obviously had a bracelet or something as it made about four rounded impressions (pencil head wide, quite shallow). Nothing serious but they are there. A little corrosion in the original Wilky trem. I have the bar...it's at the rehearsal space in my big bag-o-bars presently. There's small amount of fret wear. Original hard shell case, a couple dime size nicks in the tolex it is otherwise 100%. It has a Hot Rails in the bridge. It came with the original duncan single, but I will have to find that too. My stuff got scrambled a bit when I got a rehearsal pit (50 miles away). I will include that and may have to shipo it after the guitar, but you will get it. It also comes with the Wilky saddle height adjustment tool. No, I will not consider selling that separately. There's no issues at all with this guitar. No goofy stuff. Holds tune like only a bolt on Hamer can. I hate to see it go, but I must find money to pay for my ESP Michael Wilton model. Here's some pics. These always seem to come up links...oh well...

The White Stripes: Is this band a hoax?

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............. Got the cover of the Rolling Stone. At least Jacky Poo can now "send five copies to [his] mother". My favorite line from the song Solo: "Skree skunonkk blaaant bumk" Producer "Be-yoooo-tee-ful... just the way I pictured it in my mind." Laterz morningstar -

OC is great the way it is. Maybe a new forum with the name "Bicker and Kvetch" ? Oed's questions are fascinating. I'd like to hear the other side... your mileage may vary morningstar -
In the interest of board civility
morningstar replied to hikarateboy's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Civility requires maturity. Maturity involves constructive use of issues to achieve resolution. Resolution requires participants accept that nobody ever gets their dream deal; but that resolution is better than continued conflict. Most of all we need to learn from our mistakes, and from those of others (I call it "free wisdom"). Like them or not, the free wisdom is worth the price. From all I can see, all the issues obviously targeted by this thread are "Water Under the Bridge". Moving on looks like a good idea. As for deleting entire threads, that deprives the civil among us from discussing unpooular issues in a civil manner. Flame posts, or individual posts which do not comply with the Termos of Service are the real culprits, and those individual posts should be deleted. When noncompliant posts consitute the bulk of a thread, then deletion of the thread should be considered. It seems to me that Turdus did so with good success for a while. Bury the hatchet guys. morningstar -
How do you get the 80's hair band sound?
morningstar replied to nosajwp's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
First. You are probably playing to a room full of drunks. If the drunks are happy, the barkeeper's happy. If the barkeeper's happy, you get invited back. If you are playing for yourself, or for other players in the crowd, you are missing the point of playing retro stuff for drunks. Marshall JCM 800's will do the job just fine. Many metal monsters of the 1980's used various types of boosters up front. Some metal guys had their heads modded, like the Lee Jackson mods which can create one hell of a lot of "squeeze" even at moderate volumes. Frankie's got some of these and makes em sound fabulous. Some stomp boxes can blend with JCM800 without making a mess. Always have a delay in the chain. Reach for a tone with just enough distortion, but not too much. You have to pay attention better when playing, but overall it sounds way better, fatter and non-buzz-saw. Also many of the 80's metal doods were total rack weenies and were using non-head stereo amplification with beaucoup preamps doodads geegaws and miscellaneous whatzits (all with flashing LED's). Bottom line: This works for ME: The drunks want uninterrupted entertainment, so I have gone total rack weenie and my POD XTPro and Live both provide fast accurate switching and tone that is good enough for a buncha stoned drunkards, and that's good enough for the barkeepers. -

Silentman (Lou) did some research n a Cali he bought from me and it was indeed assembled in 1997 from parts made at the old plant in 1996. I would agree that trust on something like this should be restricted to HFC and others with whom one has a sterling preexisting relationship. Bob's 1996 trans red alder Daytona gives me a bone. Too bad I am outta cash presently. Alder rules. morningstar

The Stoptail Daytona: I traded it to BluesBuster to get my Vintage Orange alder Daytona back. I don't think he would ever let it go. morningstar
