Here are a few others that have passed through my hands over the years... I've got a shot around somewhere from '05 or so with 10-12 Standards lined up in my back yard. That was the high water mark for me-all but two were four digits too.

The one note that turned my head more than any other was the first bend and release note of the solo in "Suspicion" by Crack the Sky from the "White Music" album (Rick Witkowski). It had to just be recorded SO loud and has pretty much always just screamed tone to me.

Ok, so none were either perfect or anywhere near perfect. Edited to add (and how in the hell could I have forgotten) "Picnic Table Lovin" by Arthur Price and "Some Man is Fucking My Horsie (Mama Squirt Him With the Hose)" by Darlene Ross.

"Calling Sydney" by the Shazam. Perfection in a very short space indeed. The guitar breaks in "God Save The Queen" are pretty perfect for that song too and VERY brief. Brian May is also another guy who has achieved godlike status in this realm. For tone and tastiness, not many come close. The guitar break in "We Will Rock You" still rocks. His lead fills have always been great ones too.

You nailed two of my faves Kiz-as soon as I saw the title, I thought of "Candy-O" and "Driven to Tears". How about Pete T on "Summertime Blues"? I've always dug the shorty solo on Liz Phair's "Supernova" too.

Yup. They're pretty ugly and a little cheesy as knobs go, but they are original parts from '82-'86 and actually work well I think. They're stamped "Hamer" on the bottom and I haven't seen anyone else use anything like them. A softer plastic, but good size, so functionally, I actually prefer them.

I respectfully disagree. I know how to pack guitars and the one guitar that I would have thought was the best packing job ever (and the most valuable I've ever shipped) was destroyed. My guess is that the tire tracks/elephant footprints on the outer carton were part of the reason that UPS paid the claim. Of course that wasn't necessarily easy or quick, but they never denied coverage or damage-just fought with me about the amount.

They'll rely on the contract terms-you can argue that it's unenforceable and use things like the shipper's obligations under the Carmack Amendment (roughly that act says that anything is covered up to $100 unless the value is declared-at that point, when accepted by the shipper, they're on the hook). I think that they gamble that no one's going to take them to court and deal with the hassle. As for punitive damages, those are only awardable when provided for by statute, so you'd have to see what your state has as far as unfair trade practices acts or related consumer protection statutes-that's usually where you find those, but you usually have to plead all necessary elements under those to recover accordingly.
