This could only happen to you, Jaye! I know....I'm still stunned today that they gave me a new one. Kinda makes you rethink all of those pool-side shots you took of your guitars, huh? Uh...yeah. So you know, I was lounging right next to the pool, minding my own business and sunning. There's a small table right next to the chaise lounge. I put my tshirt on the table and put the phone on it, then folded over the shirt a little to cover said phone. Decided to go inside, so grabbed the shirt and IN SLOW MOTION I SAW THE PHONE BOUNCE ONTO THE POOL EDGING THEN DIRECTLY INTO WATER. Can you say HOLY FUCK???? Bad bad bad...dumbass dumbass dumbass.

Say what you will, but Apple's customer service is top of the line. I actually hate to admit this publicly, but I dropped my iPhone in my pool yesterday -- fried it all to hell actually. I called the local Apple Store and they said to bring in to get looked at by a tech. So I made an appointment and headed over. First thing I see at the entrance is a "Sorry we're all out of iPhones" sign...not good. I get there and the phone won't turn on and no diagnostics can even be done on it. I say, "guess I'm screwed. The guy says, "excuse me please." He's gone a good 10 minutes. He comes out from the back and gets some model information off the back of my phone and goes away again. Five minutes later he comes back and says, "Dude, we're going to give you another phone for free and treat it as a return. Please understand there is NO way this is actually covered by your warranty. But the manager says it's the Fourth of July, so what the hell?" He pulls out the new phone, puts in the fried phone's SIM card, and proceeds to reactivate it. Man, I almost jumped up and hugged that kid. I fully expected to have drop another $600. I'm still stunned to be honest. All I had to do when was sync it up with my Mac at home and everything was back to normal. I lost zero info after the sync. I learned a life lesson yesterday -- DON'T TAKE MY IPHONE IN THE BACKYARD. Apple saved my ass (and wallet) yesterday.

Everything about it is cool IMO. The activation process is killer (via iTunes) and took all of three minutes I'd say. And every application works flawlessly so far. The keyboard takes a little getting used to, but now it's great and I'll never have to touch my Blackberry again.

Rectos kick ass...all of them in their own special way IMO. I found a great tip on the Mesa Forum for getting a good clean tone from a Recto -- ALWAYS cank the master volume up to at least half, then back off on the gain channel volumes. Ever since I started doing that I'm getting great head room from the clean channel. As for the two gain channels on my Triple Recto, yeah I use the third channel for the Godsmack type stuff but I spend 80 percent of the time on Ch. 2's vintage setting. Love it love it love it.

Way cool Dave. I saw them open for Rob Zombie at the 930 club a year or so ago. Not my thing either but good for what they do. Nice score...

The 60s necks ARE bigger than the LP Classic necks. Not sure what the guy wants money wise, but if it's around $2K spend a little more and get a 57 Reissue Historic LP.

Yep, the recent Guitar World with EVH on the cover (plastic surgery anyone???) clearly says the PAF in Eddie's Frankenstrat currently measures 0 ohms.

Holy crap! What a freekin MONSTER! I think this Standard Custom is one of the top two guitars I ever owned. As Nick pointed out, totally lightweight but has more massive tone than I remember. Fat-ass neck and the WCRs are just icing on the cake. I've owned way more guitars than I care to admit, and this one just flat out rocks my world. Wow. I may end up selling off most everything and sticking with Hamers for good (errrr, don't hold me to that ok? ).

Yep, the damn thing still looks brand new. And thank YOU for letting me get it back.

I am beyond pleased to buy back a 59 burst Standard Custom I originally bought new from Elduave a couple of years back. A big thanks to sw686blue for selling it back to me. Just tracked it and if all goes well, it will be in my possession some time today. It's one of those "why the HELL did I ever sell that guitar" and to get it back is just too freekin' cool. If it's all I remember (and I have no reason to believe it isn't), I'll be putting up the 80 Special on the for sale block as I just won't need that one, which was truly an impulse buy. I can't believe I waited all this time to get back into Hamers.
