  1. The bridge on that Daytona isn't the Wilkinson. As far as I can see, that's not a bridge Hamer ever used on their US guitar, so why would they have one lying around in their factory? I'm guessing that guitar is an import. And since that price isn't a great deal even if it is a USA Daytona, I'd stay away far away. -Austin
  2. Right now I have 3 guitars and only one (the Special) has it's original pickups. Part of the fun of buying used it that, even if I spend, say, $150 on different pickups, I'm still coming out far ahead of where I'd be if I bought used. -Austin
  3. Ex-Action Figures / Grind Brilliant, brilliant songwriting. As far as I know, they never tried to make it big. I heard of 'em when I was going to grad school at the University of Wisconsin. -Austin
  4. My current number 1 is my Parker Fly. It just soo comfy to play and I can get lotsa sounds out of it. In terms of strict eletric sounds tho', my Special kills it. I love those P90's that are in it. -Austin
  5. Is there anything preventing people from posting for sale ads on the regular board? Is this actually policed and enforced? Anyway, I like having them separate. It makes it easier to find all the for-sale stuff. -Austin
  6. If'n you ever want to move that setneck Cali, you know who to call! -Austin
  7. Holy Crap, that's SWEEEET ! Are those pickups alot larger than standard single coils? The pickup routs looks different than stock, but they look so good, even in close-ups, that it's hard to tell. -Austin
  8. That looks yummy ! I wouldn't mind doing that to My mirage. The real question is; did you manage to duplicate the various wiring possibilities in the original Red Special or does this just have regular strat wiring? Seems like you could at least do all-on and some parallel/series stuff by using the mini toggle and push-pulls on the volume and tone. -Austin
  9. Yup! -Austin
  10. Let's see...
  11. I like the ceramic P90's on my Hamer Special. They have the power of humbuckers, but are "stringier" (if that makes any sense ). Hamer probably isn't catering to those with vintage tastes as far as alot of their pickup choices go (which is a bit strange given the market I would guess they are shooting for), but I don't have vintage tastes, so that don't bother me none. Plus, obsessing about pickup changes is fun (and generally less expensive that obsessing over guitar changes ). -Austin
