  1. Jeez iown, ebony fretboard & boomers turn that Mirage into a Watson doesn't it?IIRC the Mirage & Watson bodies are identical. Don't know for sure but the Watson may have a more early 90's thin neck and some sort of hot single coil neck pup. Watson experts, what say you? noonan ps - or could it be The Outside Toilet Watson ? 2. But is he smarter than Bob Clear? Bob Clear? Do you mean 'ol Elwood "Bob" Clear? The infielder for the 1945 Batavia Clippers?! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Clear noonan
  3. looks spotless, like unplayed spotless. everything seems to be working fine. very nice flame top. have at it gents noonan
  4. b4 they put you under the knife would you please ship my Studio? Thanks. noonan ps - go easy on the vicodin. they have a nasty habit of staying around much longer than they are welcome.
  5. On a recording it was SRV's first album. The tune was "Its floodin' down in Texas". Live it was The Allman Bros. What a memorable show. I had a great date with me, and we were way up close, leaning on the stage. When Betts stepped forward to start singing Ramblin' Man he almost stepped on our fingers. (Well ok....almost) Same summer, same great date (what a honey, wonder what she's doin' these days?) Muddy Waters opening for Eric Clapton in Madison, WI. Johnny Winter playing guitar in Muddy's band. All 3 them played Mojo Workin" together. That was the opening show of a Clapton tour. He was hospitalized the next day(?) with bleeding ulcers & cancelled the rest of the tour. noonan
  6. Tip of the hat to The Sopranos: fugidaboudid. Ignore the inevitable & silly emails you will receive from this guy. If you respond you're just giving him the attention that his mommy didn't give him when he scraped his elbow the first time he fell off his bike. He might flame you on eBay feedback. bfd. Flame him back if you like until you two hit the eBay feedback limits. Who cares if the neg fback turns your 100% into 99.3%. What?, future employers are gonna check your eBay rating before they hire you? Do enough eBay, eventually you are bound to bump into a psycho. If you are even on dollars & gear then put this deal behind you. Say buh bye & fugidaboudid. noonan ps - for future ref. buy from someone local so that you can inspect the gear before the cash is handed over. Even better, buy from a local "bricks & mortar" shop. They have real skin in the game, but the cybergoofs can vanish in an instant.
  7. Very sad times. Remember the good times. PB sandwiches hot chocolate watching the Wizard of Oz the walk to 1st grade whatever works for you I'm sure your Mom is saving a great seat for you up there, front center.
  8. The Waukesha County Fair is always looking for a recognizable name to put on their posters. So is the Miller Stage at SummerFest. They don't care if only one of the original Monkees is still with the band. noonan
  9. breast implants are getting better
  10. lets see now. the current stable consists of - Cruise Setneck Bass tobacco burst from RJoesph 133. - Indigo Duotone very-Custom from burningyen Ben - Tobacco burst Studio from sw686blue - NOS VintageS. turbo gerbil knew I was looking for one, found one for me in a music store, checked it out, gave it his stamp of approval, emailed me, Done Deal. - Eclipse bought from some guy named Matt from "somewhere around Baltimore". for the life of me I cannot remember his real name or his HFC name. All his jpegs were black & white, does that ring a bell for anyone? Regardless it was a very smoove deal. - Purple Special FM from holLoWsKulL. - and a busted up Studio (thank you UPS!) soon to be in Platzer's ICU. Can't remember the seller's HFC name. Real name is John Lewman. noonan
  11. Hmmm, methinks that B12L came from somebody here when I bought it, and the Valvetech went to Caddie, who sold it here just recently. I'd sure like to run back across the blue Studio Custom that I sold a coupla years back. I think it was a former Turdus guitar with a stolen pawn shop history. It ended up in Abaco's (IIRC) hands when I foolishly passed it on. yup. the valvetech went to pasqual12. He lives nearby, came over to try it out. He peeled off the cash, and left with the valvetech. no packaging/shipping, no paypal or money order nonsense. And it stayed within our little community. I suspect it will end up in another HFCer's basement.like some remote, small communties, our "gene pool" could use a wee bit of freshening up. remember the banjo kid in Deliverance. Dontcha think? ;-O noonan
  12. DAY um that '59 burst. We see so much of it, I think I might just crap '59 burst one of these days. noonan
  13. hhmp,,,,,,,sounds like an NBA-style three way deal is out.....for the time being. Well..........the first one of us to have the bloom of new love fall off their rosie guitar, please email the other 2. Its inevitable, for those of us incurably inflicted with G.A.S., that the bloom always fades. noonan
  14. Well Danny, if I had a tobacco burst wraptail studio and you were interested in it, it would be trade bait for that duotone of yours...alas you have me mistaken as the owner of that guitar oooops, my bad. The TobBrst is indeed in the able hands of sw686blue. Maybe you, me and sw686blue can work out one of those complex 3-way deals like they do in the NBA?
  15. uh... dig cam capoot at the moment. This pic will give you a rough idea of what it looks like. Spruce top underneath the indigo, ebony fretboard, extra crown at the top so I don't get lost doing those cowboy chords. That's about it. Now holLoWskull, you wouldn't happen to be cracking the door open to that tobacco burst, wraptail studio, wouldja? And/or that purple wraptail studio that you recently yanked from beneath my craggy outstretched hand? enjoy noonan
  16. Scala's Hot Giardinara on its way. noonan
  17. 1.) Whogoddit? I shall not reveal the identity of the lucky lad, that is soully upto him. now, gents......let's get to work on a buyer for that '96 Mirage II. noonan
  18. SOLD to an esteemed member of the HFC.
  19. Actually the '77 Sunburst has moved along. Can't remember to who. Shit, you should have called me; I'd have loaned you the 4 bills for that Studio. I'm tempted to loan you the scratch for this amp! I'm determined to turn you into me LOL! I'm determined to turn you into me LOL! Isn't that what Jeff Goldblum said to Geena Davis in The Fly? noonan
  20. How close you are makes this especially scary. Good thing I never had a Wraparound Studio. Just 25th Ann, Daytona, and a Takamine A/E. I see something in the background. Looks like a Studio/Natual/Wrap, or is there an f-hole hiding behind your leg (stop that snickering, not THAT kind of f-hole) that makes that item into an Artist? noonan
  21. from the Valvetech website: The ValveTech is a class A/B amp has about 22 watts that sounds like 50 with a tone that's just plain SWEET. The heart of the amp are its 3-12AX7s, 2-6V6 power tubes and a 5U4 rectifier tube. noonan
  22. PAYPAL!!!! Just kidding. no, no, no PP. I'm sure we could work out the details on a trade for a Studio w/ a wraparound tail, non '59 burst. Come on ETk, I live just a few short miles away in Naperville. (aka: no shippeee) I have Pop Tarts AND Bomb Pops! noonan
  23. Very kind offer Mr. cajunboy. Please post away. thanks noonan
  24. cough, excuse me, sorry, bump.... noonan
