In the middle of a conference and just took a peek....cant wait to get to a pair of headphones for this.....thanks Greg. I LOVE EVH's live tone (although most of it comes from his fingers I think)

I have a Martin DCME (Dreadnot, Cutaway, Mahogany, Electronics) it's just under a grand (I paid $925 after tax at GC) For the price it rocks. Great neck and awesome Martin tone. The frets on an accoustic tend to be smaller so getting one that feels just like an electric maybe a challenge (unless your electrics use smaller frets to). -
Thanks duderz! The family and I are heading up to my moms for a couple days to kick back Shout out to all the Vets in the house....thanks for your service. Happy B-Day to the other fellas as well!

Examples of Crappy Distorted Guitar Tone

LOL Lockbody..... I mentioned Motley Crue in the "Good tone" thread *Ducks for cover* As a kid I wanted that sound that Mick Mars got. Too Fast for Love and Shout at the Devil were benchmarks for my desired tone. Later on Girls, Girls, Girls and then Dr. Feelgood also had some great guitar tone on them. Nowadays I covet Nuno Bettencourts tone. -
I totally understand this point of view but I also remember the first time a played guitar stoned (from Marijuana) It didn't make me any better but it was definatley fun! I remember the sound of my Fender 85 amp being HUGE! Maybe it made me play in ways that I wouldn't while sober....I dunno Also made McDonalds Quarter Pounders with cheese taste extra yummy

Any new groups that play like in the 70's 80's?
KeyOfZ replied to billhart22's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
As my boy Yoda once said "No....there is another." Nuno Bettencourt's new band DramaGods (formerly Population 1) will be releasing thier debut album soon. Nuno's influences and talent should be a breathe of fresh air when the new stuff is released to the world. I can't freaking wait. -
Hehehe....you said "picked our own wood"...hehehe I got to pick my wood (hehe) from two planks via an email that Frank Rindone sent me. I can't think of another guitar maker that would let me do this without me being a member of Aerosmith or something.

Hmmm, When I was getting updates on my Artist Custom BirdsEye, both Dave MacMillan and Frank Rindone were saying that Jol was in charge of the "pictures for the website" and that he was running behind these days. I was hoping to see my Artist BE in the Designer Gallery but I guess I'll have to wait and see when/if Jol catches up (and if they think it's worthy). I know that I am fairly new here but I think you guys maybe reading to much into this. Maybe they are just really busy?

I would love to have one! It would be fun once in a while....not worth those prices for once in a while though. I would rather get a Californian Elite.

So I stayed up until 2:15am playing this little beauty I got it all adjusted and it feels incredible. This is my first guitar that has the shorter 24 3/4" scale length and I really like how the strings respond to bending and also how the strings seem to vibrate very deeply. The SustaineBlock is AWESOME, the whole guitar seems to react to the string vibrations (I can feel it vibrate when holding it) It reminds me of a LesPaul in the fact that on the Bridge pickup it gets a very chunky tone. Great for rythms and chords with a lot of saturation. The Neck pickup is very bluesy and has a very musical tone. Much brighter than my SuperPro in the neck. The middle position is the one that really surprised me, it is almost Strat like! It has a hint of twang to it. Very versatile. Hamer hit it out of the park on this one, they went above and beyond in both service and execution. The Hamer inlay that they gave me for free is a cool surprise. I tried to get a good shot of the insanely deep grain but without sunlight (didn't get home until the sun was down) I couldn't quite get it. Here is one I took that got close. Also in person the finish is VERY subtle. The middle section almost looks Vanilla White in person and then fades to an Amber.

Thanks everyone Belgian, the pickups are as follows: Seymour Duncan Custom in the Bridge Seymour Duncan 59' in the Neck I guess they couldn't fit that on the certificate with all the other goodies One really cool thing is they included the Inlayed Hamer logo on the headstock for free! I hadn't ordered it that way but it must be included with one of the options I ordered.....I'm glad they did it either way! This thing sounds amazing....beautiful tone and the pickup combo works great. Now if I just knew the best way to adjust the action....Dave says he'll take care of it if I swing by this week.

Hey bobsessed, It came set WAY low, I'll probably raise it tonight when I get home. My SuperPro came from the factory set really low too. Almost like they are showing off on how low they can get the action and still sound awesome. I'm at work right now so I only got to noodle on it for around 4 minutes LOL but I will definately raise the action. Any tips on raising the action on a Sustaine Block bridge (this is my first guitar with this type of bridge)

The wait was well worth it....check it out: Dave and my Artist Custom BE Letting it rest up for tonight ;-) Body shot Butt shot Huge frets! Full options list! I haven't had the chance to play it yet but I'll update with a tone report and better pictures when I get a chance. Enjoy!

That would be FMajor - Ionian mode I believe. The C (C7 if it has a Bb in it) chord is the 5th Chord in the FMajor scale. If you wanted to play the C chords mode in that key it would be C Mixolydian (I think). Edit: I re-read your question, Playing the notes from the FMajor scale over a CMajor chord is the C Mixolydian scale.

Stupid But I have to ask about strings

Everly B52 Rockers 9-42 on my 94 Daytona and 95 Diablo Everly B52 Rockers 10-46 on my 2004 SuperPro and 93 Daytona Great sound without being to boomy and they seem to hold up pretty good as I tend to tear strings up pretty good. -
Just saw that he finally put this guitar up on the chopping block. I had never seen an Ovation Electric guitar before he showed this to me. I thought it might interest someone on this board. Check it out!!! Ovation GP Solidbody Guitar with case Rare Collectable

Anything Nuno Bettencourt has done since leaving Extreme His first solo album Schizophonic was brilliant, great song writing and killer guitar. Then he started a band called the Mourning Widows and those albums absolutely ROCKED! Again, awesome guitat and songwriting. Some of my favorite music ever. He then did another solo album called Population One, he got really experimental voicewise on this one so it's a mixed bag but full of gems. His new band Population One AKA Near Death Experience, release an EP called Sessions from Room 4 last year that if is any indication. this band will be taking over the world when thier full album is released this summer.
