  1. " 2007 PRS SC Trem -- M I N T Y" Nice Guitar. Just to clarify, does it smell like mint, taste like mint or both? It is the right color for mint.
  2. The Kaman to Fender transfer doesn't happen till Jan 1st. How could Fender be mandating any changes before then? I really want to order a 12 string to exactly match my Duotone, which has crowns on it. How am I going to justify this one to the little woman before year-end when I just took delivery (and paid the second half) on my Special?
  3. Just got back from trying out the Rivera. Really liked the clean channel, but couldn't achieve full erection on the lead channel. Don't know if it was bad tubes or bias or what, but I couldn't get the dirty channel dialed in even after sitting there and playing around with it on the stage of his closed nightclub for 45 minutes. The distortion was just not "butter" like. I passed. There's a used Rivera Fandango 100 212 at Emerald City Guitars in Seattle owned by my buddy Jay "Soul Proprieter" Boone. I'll go give that one a whirl. He wants more $$$ than the Quiana, but I just want to hear one of these things sing. Look what else Jay happens to have on hand: Burstage
  4. Thanks guys! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I'm going to try it out tomorrow mid afternoon at the guy's club. I think I can pick it up for $1K. Maroon tolex with cover and casters. He says it has a serial number of 13 and has maybe 20 hours total playing time on it. I'll report back after I run it through it's paces.
  5. I'm in the market for a new amp and found a used Rivera Quiana 2x12 locally. Going to give it a test drive tomorrow afternoon. It belongs to a nightclub owner here in the town where I work. He claims to be a collector and has a bunch of boutique amps that he is liquidating including three Mesas, the Rivera and a Matchless. Anyone got any feedback on this amp or on Riveras in general. I'm gigging in clubs, at church, and doing a fair amount of recording. The Rivera webpage looked like the Quiana is exactly what I'm looking for and the Harmony Central reviews are unanimously positive. How would this compare to a Mesa? Thanks!
  6. I can help a little bit. A new Artist or Artist Custom model is going to have a brighter tone than a Mahogany version because of the maple top. My Artist/Duotone (below) weighs 7.4 lbs. There are lots of guys here that have Artists, so you should get some better info than mine. I have never played a Korina model. Great guitars! Yes, never pet a burning dog!
  7. My Custom P90 Duotone is the best sounding most versatile guitar that I have ever owned and if God forbid anything were to ever happen to it, I would order another with the same exact specs. I will never not own this instrument (or it's twin). My other Hamers are fantastic instruments and fun to play, but this one is attached to my soul.
  8. Phoenix in the middle of August? Are you sure that's what you want to do? You may be the only one there.
  9. Mandolin Oh, and I'm waiting for my Godin Multiac Nylon to show up that's on it's way here from Hackensack. The Roland GK- 50 arrived three days ago (both ebay buys). Looking forward to being a synth player next Tuesday when the Fedex man shows.
  10. I saw the Psychodots open up for Adrian Belew at the Backstage in Ballard (Seattle) maybe fourteen years ago. Their set was just smokin, I bought all of their CD's (still have 'em) then Belew came out and the 'Dots were Belew's band! Killer show. Another band here in the NW that came to mind that was great and never got signed was The Tiny Hat Orchestra. They were a ska band with a big horn section and a lead singer that looked like he was having a breakdown on every song. Just putting his whole existence into every note. I saw them a few times and was blown away every show.
  11. Very little Q-tips
  12. Check out Lyle Workman being workmanlike on his Hamer for Todd Allan sounds like a keyboard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkMkDzPFyTw I got to see Mr Hedges twice before he died, once in a club in Seattle around '94 and the other time at the Gorge Ampitheater in George, Washington when he opened for CSNY in 1992. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29CMRsWlDt0
  13. Sebastians in Snohomish 4/27 & 28
  14. Just one, an awesome '02 Duotone that is my #1 stage guitar. Ordered something custom last September that's being built right now with the help of BCR Greg that's shure be a shorts stainer, but we'll save that for '06 since it's still just bits of wood and metal at this stage. Happy New Year!
  15. '76 Sunburst given as a gift in 1978 by my then girlfriend, now wife (no wonder I married her!). Two years later I ordered from the factory a new '80 Standard.
  16. Hi Chris, What shape is the headstock? Did Hamer slightly change the shape of the headstock when they re-issued this guitar? How much to remove the graffitti? Thanks!
  17. Condolences Bill, that's tough stuff. Hang in there. "Time heals the wounds that no one can see"
