This wasn't my first band, but it is an old picture of me in a recording studio from 1979. I'm playing my '77 Sunburst. I am 21 years young in this pic.

Uh oh, 39! HBD!

Cool guitar Chance! I've admired it the times you've had it on Ebay. I'm going to be in PDX next Friday. If you still have it, I'd like to come see/play it in person. Who knows, maybe it will be true love? -
I think this is a positive, long overdo change. As far as I am concerned, once a buyer sends his money, he has fulfilled his end of the transaction and should not be in jeopardy of retaliation if the seller jerks you around. I recently purchased a set of luggage on Ebay from a "power seller" to give as a gift. I allowed three weeks from the time the auction closed to the date that I needed to have the gift. I overnighted the money order with a letter that said I had a deadline. Anyway, the guy sat on it, didn't ship for ten days, it had to go across the country and arrived one day late. When I took a look at the feedback for the seller, they always posted their feedback after the buyer's feedback, and if there was a negative, they responded with a negative. So I didn't enter any feedback for the flakey seller. That's BS. I guess I should have looked more closely at the seller's feedback before entering into a transaction with the guy, but when you see four or five digits of feedback transactions, you assume that the seller is not a flake.

I couldn't help but notice that there's a lot of belly cuts in that photo! How's the beltline? -

I'm either rehearsing or performing about 20 hours a week these days. I use D'add XL110's on my electrics and they last me about a month. I change them when the g and or b strings begin to tarnish. I find that they last longer when I wash my hands before I pick up the guitar and then wipe the guitars down when I'm done. On my acoustic I use D'add J16's and they last about three months.

This has got to be a joke, cause I have Standard #0006 here on my workbench and I was just getting ready to route it for Kahler. -

Your best Hamer purchase 2007 - with pics!
Camstone replied to Sentinel's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I bought three Hamers this year, but this one stands apart. Ordered in February, got her in September. Korina Junior with Quilt Top, Tobacco Sunburst, Ebony Board, Lollar P90, Tortoise Binding. Thanks Greg! Oh Hell Yes -
Sound and tone can vary a lot from guitar to guitar even in the same model from the same manufacturer. I had my heart set on getting a herringbone Martin about fifteen years ago and saved up my dough. When I had the money together I went to every music store in a 20 mile radius of Seattle and played every high end acoustic I could get my hands on. The Taylor that I bought and still have is just a boomer, tons of low end, which I really love. Because of variances in types and pieces of wood, scalloping of the bracing, overall construction and workmanship, if I were going to buy another high end acoustic guitar, I would let my ears do the shopping and not make a selection based on the name on the headstock. Find one that gets you excited when you hear it. That's the one. Doesn't matter who made it.

If you haven't hear Doyle Dykes play, check this out. There's a section on the second tune where he does touch harmonics for a couple of measures that's really sweet. I don't know if this makes me want to practice more or sell all my guitars?

There are a couple of pretty amazing natural maple topped Hamers on ebay right now. The quilt one is a steal, the flamed one's overpriced. Both are killer looking. Quilt Flame

For me, it's all about the figuring in the wood, so my ideal is as much wood grain showing and highlighted as possible. I have Natural (TLE), Cherry Burst (Studio), Iced Tea Burst (Duotone), Tobacco Burst (Newport) and then this burst on my Special, which was ordered as Tobacco, but is a bunch of different colors depending on what light is on it. This is my fave. Everytime I open the case I get excited. When I order my next custom Hamer, I'm going to send them a picture of this finish to match to.

Cheap is for pussies! I mean.... um..... oh never mind I am thinking that the next Camstone signature model is a Watson. There--- that's what I meant. Now I just have to break it to Mrs. Camstone.
-
How does one order a Watson should one want to order one (or two)? It's not on the list of available guitar models? How are they priced? Any dealers want to pipe in? The quilt topped Watson that's on the Hamer website in the Designer Gallery section that went through BCR is really a beautiful guitar. I though it was a one-of-a-kind that was built for Jeff Watson.

Hey Jorge, I think it's cool that you play guitar for Jim Bakker. I had no idea he had fled to Chile????

Heavenly Father, Your word tells us that when Jesus died for us, He bore our sickness and He bore our diseases. We thank You now that Greg's mom is being restored to perfect health, that every cell in her body is functioning as You designed it and that whatever is causing her to be sick leaves her now. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Victory inlay is made up of three pieces, the two outside trapezoids and a center triangle. The inlay pattern on this guitar (two posts up) is the center inlay triangle except on the twelfth fret. Here's a pic that may illustrate it better: Inlay Pattern So they essentially just leave off the two outside pieces on every inlay except the 12th fret. For sure it's less work, but probably an up-charge.
