Not sure if you peeps have seen the out-takes on the original Spinal Tap DVD/Bluray disc? OMG, there's about an hour of incredible extra scenes, just as funny as the original movie.
-
It's just silly humor and lots of musical jokes that musicians get that the average film reviewer wouldn't understand. It's not the 'Godfather' or '2001'. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, I have to get this t-shirt.

No spoilers here, just fun chat. Just watched the latest Spinal Tap II. Just great. Laughed the entire time. Some cool axes in the movie. Christopher Guest plays a ton of different MusicMan and Ibanez guitars. Michael McKean pretty much plays a single PRS the whole time. And two funny scenes with Guest about his pedal board, like the old 'Goes to 11' thing. I really enjoyed it. We chatted after and I must have missed a ton of funny shit as a friend said, "did you see this and that" and I say, no, I missed it and they missed stuff I caught. There is a TON of subtle signage and quick bits that you really have to watch it a few times to catch it all. And, watch it all the way, there's some funny interview stuff at the end too. Can't wait till it comes out to rent.

Yeah, that was my thread. If you have any questions about Bogners, I'd be more than happy to try to help!

Anyone checked out the new buying & selling site called Resyn? I think its past time that we have a new place to buy and sell gear. And, NO FEES. Not sure how that will work. Plus, what protections you get from getting damaged stuff. I just signed up... we'll see how it goes. https://www.resyn.com/

Quilter Back-up Surprise
santellavision replied to BoogieMKIIA's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I'm also a big fan of Quilter stuff. I've had a bunch over the years. My fav is the older Overdrive 200. It just has some nice magic inside. The SB UK also rocks. -
Good luck with the sale. These are great playing and sounding guitars! Here's a great video comparing the PRS SE Silver Sky to some vintage Fenders.

Experience with Tone King imperial pre-amp?
santellavision replied to Gabe's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I pre-ordered it and got it early. Love it. I'm using it to record most of the guitars on my new album. It just 'feels' and sounds as good as any of my tube amps mic'd. You can't tell the difference, even with critical listening. Not using the on-board reverb for recording, but just jamming, works nice with dwell time and level. The tremolo in stereo is great too. I'm just running the XLR outs to my UA Apollo interface. The on-board IRs are very nice. I have also been messing with a few other Cab files I have. Easy interface to change them out. It's a great box and I give it a solid recommendation. Check out Pete Thorn's video: -
RIP Ozzy. High School wouldn't have been the same without ya!

WTB Aged Pickup Covers
santellavision replied to Len's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Just a note of caution. One thing that effects pickup tone is the material and how the cover fits against the bobbins. If it's loose and not snug, it can hurt the sound. I've read that from some pickup makers saying don't just pop on any old pickup cover. nickel silver covers are the best for the least amount of high-end loss. So, trying not to poo-poo your search, but just a little FYI. -
WTB 70's Hiwatt Dr103
santellavision replied to Cboss's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Or get one of these Red Seven EVO units to tame that beast! I just got one of these and it's the bomb. Sounds spectacular to record amps. Has 2 simultaneous cab IR's, Mics, Gate, Power amp sims and easily connects by Bluetooth. Steve Stevens is using a couple on tour right now. Here's a cool rig rundown out there.
