  1. The B-bender is on so many tracks. Jimmy Page used one on a ton on Zep tunes.
  2. The ToneQuest Report raves about this delay.
  3. Lou Reed. He can't sing for sh!t, but I like this tune where he speaks it. Lou Reed - "Baby Face"
  4. I loaned a vintage EFX box to a friend once and never got it back. That's was the end of any loaning. Not worth it. But, I don't mind any friends playing my axes/amps while I'm there.
  5. Price Drop. OCD is SOLD! $100 for MXR. Shipped/PP'd
  6. Price Drop... A couple of popular pedals. Fulltone OCD & MXR Carbon Copy Delay. Both latest versions. And both look brand-new. No velcro (I had some small pieces on both, but carefully removed them without damage or residue. So, they both look perfect. The OCD works on both 9v or with 18v for extra headroom. Original boxes included with both. Fulltone OCD (Version 4) SOLD!! MXR Carbon Copy (Version 2) $100. Includes shipping & Paypal. No trades.
  7. I respect Andy Brauer as he's one of the best amp techs in the world and has owned, repaired and played most all Marshalls. He's more than well respected. If he thinks it was the best clean tones, that good enough for me! I guess it's in the ear of the beholder. Did you read the VG article?
  8. This JTM30 uses 2 actual 6L6s, not 6V6's.
  9. Thanks Siaip. Yeah, these are great sounding amps and easily compete with amps 3x as much.
  10. PRICE DROPPED $600 Shipped/PP'd Pretty Rare, Marshall JTM30 1x12" Combo. Super clean. Excellent condition. Works perfect. All original. These are hot, hot, hot right now after the killer article "Sleeper Amps" in Vintage Guitar Magazine. They truly sound killer. Considered the best clean tone Marshall has ever built. (The Overdrive channel roars too!) They are pretty hard to find as they were only built for 2-3 years. Here's one that is all original, no mods, no scratchy pots or jacks, and very low hours. New JJ 6L6 power tubes. (I replaced the original 5881's as recommended in the VG article) Tolex covering is really clean with only one tiny ding on the back bottom edge. Celestion G12 speaker. 2 channels, Master Volume, 3-spring Accutronics Reverb, EFX loop and Speaker Emulated output. It's a loud 30 watts, plenty enough to play in band/gig setting, plus it has an excellent sounding Master Volume for quieter use. Comes with a/c power cable and manual. (No footswitch, but any single-button, mono 1/4" cable, switch will work. I've tried one from another amp and it switches perfectly) Here's a link to the Vintage Guitar article: VG Article $600. Shipped/Paypal'd ernie.santella@comcast.net
  11. Funny Story! I thought for second that you were going to tell a bad story about an wild animal escaping.
  12. Jeff, Thanks, I just bid on it!
  13. It didn't come with a channel/reverb footswitch. I'm not sure which one to find. I do have a mono 1/4" one and it does work the channels if you only push it one click in. I bet to find a used one might be more than the whole amp - haha.
  14. The gain channel has what they call the SuperSatâ„¢ circuit. It was the precursor to the TransTube. (It might well be the same thing with a earlier name.) But, it really works and does a nice job of compression and handling guitar vol changes.
  15. They definitely have a sound of their own. Not Fender or Marshall that's for sure. Maybe that's why. It's refreshing to hear something a little different. Not the usual classic Fender sound & Marshall grind. The thing takes pedals well too. I run both an OCD and a Timmy to get some of those tones too. I may just run two amps, this clean with its awesome reverb and my Hoagland 18watt for its pure Marshall tone.
  16. So, I'm running through the Denver Craig's List and I see this Peavey amp for $50. Mint condition. So, I pick-up what I thought would be a light, little amp that I could throw in the car and take to band practice. A crappy Peavey Bandit 75. Solid State. 2 channels, 12" Peavey Scorpion speaker. Weighs only about 25lbs. I figured for $50. how can you go wrong (It's actually in dead mint condition too) I thought what the hell, it sounded pretty good at the dudes house. So, I take it to band practice, plug in my 100x more expensive Huber Redwood and everyone's jaws dropped. The crazy little thing sounded freakin' awesome. Nobody could believe it sounded this good, even me. The clean channel is killer. I did some research on Harmony Central and every review raved about the clean channel and its amazing reverb. Bingo, they were right on. The Overdrive channel sounded pretty good too. It has their TransTube analog circuitry which actually sounds OK. But, in a mix, the thing just fit in and kicked butt. Just goes to show you, never diss something till you try it. My little find of the year.
  17. So what do I win? A free PLEK would be nice?
  18. We've lost one of the very, very special people in the music biz.
  19. I don't use it after the delay, just by itself. I kinda' thought it might be easier to hit on the router if it was on the end. I probably should have put it 2nd, next to the Timmy as it should be ahead of the other time-based effects. I think I'll redo it. Thanks for noticing!
  20. Just re-did my pedal board. I think it came out pretty nice. What do you guys think?? - Line 6 X2 Wireless - RoadRage ProGear 2x1 Guitar Input Switcher (I can run my main wireless or a wired guitar) - RMC RC2 Wah - RoadRage ProGear 5-EFX Loop Switcher with Tuner/Mute output - Korg DT7 Tuner (w/Buzz Feiten mode) - Timmy Boost/OD - BYOC (Build your own Clone) Phase 90 - H2O Delay/Chorus - Demeter Tremulator - RedWitch Deluxe Moon Phaser - Fulltone OCD Boost/OD - ISP Deciminator Noise Reducer - NYC PedalBoard - 2 Dunlop DC-Brick Power supplies (with 9v & 18v outs) - George L's wire
  21. I hope that guy is going to put them in a glass case and not use them. And is only buying them as a pure investment. Because if he thinks they are some kind of voodoo magic and the best pickups ever built and make him play like a rock star, he's sorely mistaken.
