  1. Find him a new guitar...then let us know what he needs to make it his
  2. You just can't beat the look on the middle guy's face either
  3. I put Fralin Underwound P90's in my Archtop GT and they sound great. They still have the P90 "growl" but not quite as edgy as the stock Duncans were.
  4. I've never tried the Boost D.L.A., but if it's anywhere near as good as my Boost R.V.B. it'll be killer!
  5. Whenever I list something on Craigslist I put the statement "Cash only and local pickup only" in my ad. When (not if) I get one of the scam emails I respond by saying "My ad clearly states 'cash only and local pickup only.' If you are willing to abide by those terms, please feel free to contact me again." I have yet to receive a response.
  6. Mark, Glad the amp sold...I was starting to weaken Tell the buyer that there's a matching 1x12 EVM loaded cab on ebay right now... Ray
  7. Yep...there's nothing quite like a good piece of glass Welcome to the Maverick fold. I love mine. I used to think hauling it around was a pain. Then I got a Thiele cab with an EVM. Now I'd like a fork lift +1 If you need to do crisp and clean, that's the amp.
  8. You know how we all are...ready to throw salt on an open wound
  9. Tell me about this one. Izzat Korina? Yep...a 2001 two-piece body Korina I got from Peter last year. Virtually new condition. Probably going on the for sale board soon because it's not getting any play time.
  10. R.I.P. to a true legend and a real gentleman ...glad I made the effort to see him many of the times I was in New York
  11. You just can’t ever have enough Teles! My twang gang: 1982 Fender (Japan) Pink Paisley Telecaster Reissue; 1996 Hamer T-51; 1987 Hamer TLE (short scale); 2008 Kevin Schwab Custom Telecaster (USA Custom Guitars mahogany body, Warmoth maple/rosewood neck, Duncan Mini Humbucker and Five-Two pickups); 1999 Bill Schwab Custom B-Bender Telecaster (Warmoth flame maple over swamp ash body, Warmoth flame maple neck with ebony board, Glaser B-Bender, Hipshot D-Tuner, Duncan Little ’59, Hot Stack, and Hot Tele pickups. All I need now is a Thinline of some sort
  12. Don't worry about transportation once you're here. I'll do some hauling as will others I'm sure.
  13. March 20 and 21 is that Friday/Saturday. I'm open for any of those days...and I sure do need the practice! Ray
  14. You're welcome to use this if you don't want to travel with one of yours...
  15. I was thinking using a stereo pair of small diaphragm condenser microphones into my tube preamp then into a Zoom H4. Nothing fancy, but it should capture the evening fairly well...and it's a "set it and forget it" kind of setup.
  16. Do you think we should put together a list...not necessarily a "set" list, but a list of "stuff" just to keep things moving throughout the night? Anyone planning to record this? I have some fairly good microphones, a tube mic preamp and a digital recorder that I could set up for a simple stereo recording of the whole evening.
  17. I think she's originally from North Dakota and she plays quite a few shows in this area. A friend of mine has been on the same bill with her a few times and commented that she's developed a fairly good size booze and white powder habit and it's begun to affect both her attitude and her shows. I still like that album and her cover of "The Weight"...and I think she was only 14 or 15 when she did that one!
  18. You've got plenty of time between now and then to train in a capable apprentice...break them in on Friday night so they can do it solo on Saturday
  19. A big THANK YOU to whoever bought the trans black Studio Custom...now I don't have to think about it any longer If it was one of you two Chicago area guys you better haul it along up here in April
  20. You should have driven a harder bargain with the guy here in Minnesota. I think he sold that MONEL for $1500.
  21. I bought my '81 Vector from this guy. His description was very accurate, he packed it very well, and shipped very quickly. Ray
  22. Happy Birthday from the frozen tundra ...and have a good time at NAMM!
