  1. Banjo tuners! Hahahahah! Never would have noticed had it not been pointed out. Cool pic!
  2. Anyone here have that one? Brilliant idea!
  3. New Belgium Brewing and Sierra Nevada are two widely distributed 'micro' brews. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a constant presence in my fridge...
  4. Well in that case, fuck yeah! Hmmm... I haven't tried any of them bastard ass Full Shreds....
  5. I bought an '81 ML bass for half that much!
  6. Root cause is very likely to be wheat: Gluten. All the creams and lanolins and aloes of the world are treating the symptoms. The basic premise is that your body doesn't process the gluten protein and it escapes your digestive track into your bloodstream, causing myriad symptoms- Psoriasis, eczema, irritable bowel, diabetes 2- on and on, over 200 cataloged symptoms from the simple root cause. What sucks is that gluten is in wheat, barley, malts, the tasty stuff in pizza, bear, donuts, pasta, most processed foods, etc. And so the cure is simple, but not a lot of fun- cut the gluten from the diet. My wife self diagnosed this almost a decade ago; two years later I had some blood tests done on me (which are pretty unreliable, both false negatives and false positives) and came in at a screaming positive. It's genetic; we took the kids off the wheat. They all sprouted up as fast as the food bill. Good news? Bourbon is gluten free. The Doc ordered blood tests yesterday as a matter o' fact. Until recently I thought gluten problems always caused intensely painful Celiac disease but I'm finding out that wheat/gluten intolerance doesn't always cause pain but can manifest in many ways. My eczema is only on my hands (flair ups around the joints are especially painful). Thanks for the additional info Toadroller. Good bye microbrews, hello fine bourbons!
  7. I noticed that my eczema flairs up the day after I have fresh made bread or wheat beer. I have also read that some people have found relief from iodine supplements though I don't have any experience with that.
  8. I had read that it was to simulate the treble roll off that occurs with long cable runs... IIRC, Carlos wanted it when he switched from long cables to wireless. I read this on the inter-web some time ago so who knows what is correct.
  9. I recently had my PC monitor die due to crappy electrolytic power supply caps. Several months back I installed a 500V F&T in my Dr Z Maz Jr (so the entire supply could handle 500V) and also used them in the PS of my Dumble clone. You have to decide if you want to risk having to redo the job in several years or (hopefully) a decade from now. If there were chassis room, I would personally just do them all with poly caps and be done with it.
  10. Korina body on the Inferno???
  11. Do you really use the tone control? If not just remove the wire going to the tone pot and you will have the full brightness of the pickups. If you do want a tone pot and don't have a 500k pot, try a 0.01uF instead of the 0.022. If you don't have a 0.01 but have another 0.022, you can connect two 0.022's in series and the net value will be 0.011. Removing the cap, grounding the middle lug and leaving everything else the same will give you a master volume.
  12. My vote is for the Scarab, especially this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/80s-HAMER-SCARAB-made-USA-/120818305097?pt=Guitar&hash=item1c21550849#ht_3440wt_1313
  13. I tried the Schroeder and sent it back. I was unhappy with the limited intonation range. It was otherwise well built. I replaced it with the Tonepros wrap and like it quite a bit. I snagged my TP on ebay for $90 new with studs.
  14. Veatch's comparison is great! I like the Rio's gnarly character but like that the Lollars and Fralins have a wide dynamic rage. The Wolfetones sound interesting. I will have to look into them more. I've heard some raves about the SP-3 but this particular one's just not working for me. Thanks for the great input!
  15. Awesome! Thanks. Now if I can just find my headphones.....
  16. I'm looking to replace the Duncan Custom SP-3 in my Special Korina Jr. It seems a quite a bit dead to me especially when comparing it to the Pearly Gates bridge in my Studio. The PG has way more highend and sparkle than the SP-3. The guitar is acoustically very lively and snappy. After listening to some sound clips I'm liking the Lollar 50's wind and Standard wind. I like the zing of the '50's wind but also see the merits of the Standard wind. What are other Jr. owners using?
