  1. That ENTIRE weekend is now blocked off on the calendar... book this now gents and ladies. It WILL be one to remember...
  2. Let us know when you know Jonathan, it would be great to see ya!! & thanks!!! Robb
  3. I'm blushing... thanks guys!!! be our friend... http://www.myspace.com/thefamousvolcanoes
  4. Try some Bob Wills Pirate.
  5. Its all about physics. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Fame is way over-rated.
  6. that's good humor Chris. I've known many a guitar player who has no clue how loud he/she is compared to the drummer and then the sound guy has to either tell he/she to turn down or try like hell to adjust the rest of the mix... unfortunately the second option seems more the norm... just my experience.
  7. Being that I have been friends with our grand poo-baa Hikarateboy for well over 20 years I was in the unique position to see the HFC hatch from infancy... back in those days I was pretty skeptical of the "internets" so what he was describing was mostly going in one ear and out the other... (sorry Ted!!)... but as time went by and I started lurking myself it became very much of a reality and when it was time for me to buy my first Hamer, ya'all were there for me!! thanks!! That said, without the HFC my music life would without a doubt not be the same right now... going to my first 4-3-2-1 jam opened a whole new world of great people for me and Toni !! lots of great friends!! a lot of good karma... last night's gig was proof of that!!
  8. Be our friend!! http://www.myspace.com/thefamousvolcanoes
  9. Jones, You forgot to say Gear Daddies. +1 on Drivin' and Cryin'
  10. One of my college roommates was part of a family business that distributed CDs, records and tapes (wholesale, warehouse distribution). They were a big enough player that he got tons of free CDs, mostly by unknown artists. I heard Pearl Jam about 6 months before the broke huge and many others. My favorite unknown from the pile that I still love to this day... The Strawberry Zots
  11. I think there may have been a record number of songs played at this jam!! Big, huge thanks to Bruce once again for the hospitality!! It was great seeing you all again!!
  12. I'm at work today, so that's my WORK keyboard you just wrecked!!! : )
  13. I'm really glad that guy ran away... I don't like the idea of having a good Bruce and a bad Bruce on this board. Just a good Bruce... It would have been all confusing and sh*t. By the way at the next 4-3-2-1 jam I gotta see this all USA-Korean import, that sounds seriously cool !!! edited as I forgot the wink!!!! Last import I saw at BruceM's place was a nice bottle of French wine.
  14. Badger’s "love" for John Mayer is legendary. Wow, you gave it three mintues!!! That musta lasted a lifetime!!
  15. Springteen's telecaster on the Born to Run cover... later it was also basically the same guitar the Dave Pirner played while SA was coming up, that did it for me. My first electric? Fender Telecaster.
  16. Hey Bruce, Gene has some photos of FV earlier in this post... Great shots, great time, great people!!!! Thanks!!
  17. Hey Rocky, regarding the Hayseed... I played through it but spent zero time tweaking as I spent all the set up time looking for a capo... and a tuner... I plugged and played and it sounded great. A bit more distorted than I am used to but all in all no problems... then again I'm not the guy to ask about "tone". I tried to get Ted to trade his for my ValveTech but he ain't interested. : ) thanks Gene for posting the pics!!!
  18. Hey all, slowly recovering here at home... thank heavens for Columbus Day!! I think Bruce said it all.. wow!!! more later when I can think & type again.
  19. I would have come over last night and provided some beats but without MC Chris there it would have seemed wrong... : ) kidding!! My liver was getting a much needed rest last night. I still have not fully recovered from Saturday...
  20. This week I was trying to think how I would post to the “Things that make you smile” thread. I have a lot to be thankful for but yesterday standing in the kitchen while Jeff was “waking up” the sausage, I realized that I was going to be kicking back a few beers, having a Cajun feast and then jamming with my Hamer brothers and I could not think of a better place to be on the planet. I can say without a doubt that one of my best decisions in the last five years was going to my first 4,3,2,1 jam. Bruce, thanks for all you do and thanks for having us… wow, thanks!!! Jeff, thanks for the Cajun food, the conversation and the screaming leads : ) I will never look at a bunny rabbit the same way again… MC, you will make a man out of me yet… the “Young Republican Rhythm Section” will play again… ; ) To the rest of ya’all good jamming and see ya soon.
  21. If the scene in Flint or surrounding area has local bands and venues that you like I would go out and see bands and start being seen, networking, meeting people. I have tried using on-line and print classifieds in the past 15 years and not one good lead... everyone I've ever played with has been through making relationships seeing other bands at clubs, meeting people, friends and jams (even HFC jams!!). If you want to do it, don't give up.
  22. I'm here just in case something blows up or in my case crashes... spending an awful lot of time in the outer circle ; )
  23. Alpep for President 2000. "If nominated I will not run, if elected I will not serve." Can I say good old days?
