  1. Late Alex Wiska made great job rocking the Turkish Saz. His live album had been a party stable in our area at the time. Just bought an old studio album the other day. It’s timeless!
  2. I‘m into Ultravox again and bought some extended 2 CD sets of Lament, Quartet, and Rage in Eden. 2nd CDs have various mixes and live recordings of the 80s on them. Actually, the remixes don‘t sound better than the old records.
  3. Oh, I love the album. Looking back, it was quite ahead of it's times. This one jumped at me today. Thought it's worth posting.
  4. Having both volumes of the Netherworld Saga. I must say I quite like them. Digged into the band a bit more. Vanden Plas seem not being a classic touring band over here, but rather produce and play metal operas in theaters in Germany. Although they frequently tend to play various festivals internationally. Also they seem to enjoy more popularity in France, the US and elsewhere in the world.
  5. Traveling for about 4 years in a few days. Go on #5!
  6. Background singers always included. It’s got a lot of bubblegum in it.
  7. I've stumbled into Tangerine Dream the other day. Still love me Tangram.
  8. Newest acquisition: Nazareth - the Newz (2008) Pretty nice actually. Nice raw scottish rock. Meanwhile, Dan McCafferty retired from the band. His health condition had not let him perform anymore. Saw them several times around that year. I remember them announcing a new recording in the making.
  9. Bought some used LPs, 70s, 80s stuff. Wire Train - ...in a chamber Urban Heroes - The Age Of... Nazareth - Snaz Ian Cussick - Treasure Islands
  10. Standards rule!

  11. Max Richter - Three Worlds
  12. Like his new record. This is an older one. Very nice cover of Prince.
  13. The other guy is Rufus Taylor. His son. He also plays The Darkness. btw. Queen are playing a 25 US tour this summer.
  14. One might come to the conclusion that with higher age the ear becomes more sensitive.
  15. Spinned on new years night party, original LP on turntable! Created some hot legs on the dance floor. We'd been partying records only various times in recent years. I'm always surprised who's still owning records and bringing them in. This time I even had not to de-construct my own stereo. A friend of mine had a combined set fully dusted resting in his son's room. Little clean-up and it made the Ballroom Blitz! For myself, I had just bought two LPs from Golden Earring ('75, '86).
  16. Jean Michel Jarre Oxygen 3 and Electronica2 : The Heart of Noise right now.
  17. The two Standards/Explorers this year just fueled GAS again for a another custom built. I'm dreaming Seasick Steve related for a while. Three strings may be enough.
  18. Did it have thanksgiving in the US already? I have missed the Native Instruments thanksgiving 50% off sales promotion so far. As I'm receiving their newsletters I'm sure haven't overseen it. It would have been an occasion to spend money into bits and bytes of sample libraries that I'm probably never going to use as much as they are worth. Just like my guitars and amps. I'm jonesing for a great string ensemble library actually.
  19. Digged this one out the other day.
  20. This guy rawks.
  21. It's gonna be a sunny day today!
