    You guys are awesome!
  2. Pretty much money for a guitar in that condition. That's raising the bar for other sales too, I think.
  3. Alles Gute mein Lieber! I wish you a ton of gold stars. Whatever you want to do with them. It will be for good.
  4. I don't think we will Feynman 90 see to be punk. Feynman III would have been for sure.
  5. Now he has cleaned the bridge. He could replace the picks at the beginning of the thread. Shouldn't he?
  6. Congratulations!
  7. Forget about the Dremel and polish manually. It'll make you sweat.
  8. Don't care if it plays and sounds well. It'd be a keeper then.
  9. Now it became a '78. There seems to be competition on the auction. Push it boys to comfirm great resale prices.
  10. Atomicwash, will you go there every now and then and feed us with pics in different sunlight?
  11. They might not have a reason to come down on the prices. What are they actually?
  12. Plenty of nice guitars there. Are they supposed to sell?
  13. Got to pull this one out again to recommend "Flying Colors". Steve Morse, Casey McPherson, Neal Morse, Dave Larue, and Mike Portnoy. Quite a supergroup playing some psychedelic rock stuff, at anytime not commercial stuff. A new record is being announced for Sep/Oct I think.
  14. Buying a guitar kit for this price would be a no go for me. The risk to damage anything while replacing the knob is on the buyers side.
  15. In a tendency, I go for fatter necks. Over the years I have given up to think about it really. Simply, because you can't change the neck. My guitarsnI bought for many reasons but the neck. If it had the right neck, I'd not like the top or pickups or whatever. Flipping guitars just for the neck, therefore, would never make me happy.
  16. Definitely the wrong thought! You certainly need more guitars. On a homeside pitstop between different vacation locations I had picked up the MIK Standard for the first time in a year. Strings had been rodded a bit, but connected to the VAC25 it still had the uber nice single coil sound for what I had Leosounds made the special pickup creation. Then I realized how sensitive the Schaller LP trem works. On top, it all resonated nicely on the all alder made guitar. It was one of this moments a glass of great wine joins in to share.
  17. Hamers deserve to have a higher value.
  18. Wherever the discussion goes. The guitar looks magic!
  19. Those who voted >$3500 were custom orders from the latest Jol era, right?
  20. I'm glad I still discover new bands making hand made music though.
  21. So spoke US producer Greg Kurstin. Albums are out, streaming is in. That's what I read in an article today on German Spiegel.de. Album sales were down 20% in the UK last year. People are streaming personal playlists or even consume ready made lists like Songza creates them. Music is becoming background noise. Even Duran Duran sue the Duran Duran Fanclub. It's all Pop these days! Where's the return of the guitar rock band? Life's in a misery.
  22. Good point for sure. The other thing for electric, of course you need a decent guitar to start with, but lately I've been kind of thinking that the amp is the really crucial link. (Not that the guitar isn't important of course, but a good amp will make a lot of guitars sound nice, whereas a great guitar through a so-so amp, not as much) And that's not as right as one might expect at first. Queen showed us how to make iconic music on a small self made amp circuit with a 2'' speaker. Whatever equipment you have, there still needs music to be made.
  23. Not me! Pretty much new stuff lately and for years. The other year I had cleaned up my pile of CDs by 50%. Decided on what I did not listen to for years and, therefore, would not likely listen to in the future. Pretty much premium stars went off the shelf. I wanted to burry it somewhere since it won't give any money for CDs anymore either. Finally, it moved to a drawer below the telly. Sometimes my wife pics one out.The shelf filled up since then with quite some new stuff and some old farts I still love publishing. Since being hooked up to Amazon Music I tend to try out some stuff online. Although, I'm missing the booklets with online buys. I like to read up who's joining in on a CD or specific title.
  24. "I decided for a one piece build"! It doesn't allow to watch the 2nd video over here for music legal reasons. Shit! Here's a legal playing demo. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mXr0pmcE21Q
