  1. This one's out for couple of weeks now. It looks like that I'm on a Queen spree at the moment listening to the Queen live 74 Rainbow box set too for a while. However, the guitar can far more than that.
  2. Well purdiness is the most significant qualifier a guitar has to match. :-)
  3. Post on the Gibson board. There's plenty of work to put into it. So, I'd check if it's worth. Congrats for an awesome find.
  4. Fixed.ETA: most play acoustics.
  5. Doesn't look so bad. Might even sound good with a pickup swap. At least pricier than the usual MIK.
  6. Pulled out my Red Special Bo Diddley from the case where it had been sitting in for a while. Floating trem goodness. At the moment I really enjoy the Queen II live concert from the At The Rainbow 74 box set. Damn it, Brian"s sound had been raw and loud at the time. Very far from the later Queen populary stuff.

I still need to decide to sell my Tally to Montelovesco.
  8. The rear control cavity is necessary to replace the pickups easily. It would be a mess to do that job on the front side.

    You guys are awesome!
  10. Pretty much money for a guitar in that condition. That's raising the bar for other sales too, I think.
  11. Alles Gute mein Lieber! I wish you a ton of gold stars. Whatever you want to do with them. It will be for good.
  12. I don't think we will Feynman 90 see to be punk. Feynman III would have been for sure.
  13. Now he has cleaned the bridge. He could replace the picks at the beginning of the thread. Shouldn't he?
  14. Congratulations!
  15. Forget about the Dremel and polish manually. It'll make you sweat.
  16. Don't care if it plays and sounds well. It'd be a keeper then.
  17. Now it became a '78. There seems to be competition on the auction. Push it boys to comfirm great resale prices.
  18. Atomicwash, will you go there every now and then and feed us with pics in different sunlight?
  19. They might not have a reason to come down on the prices. What are they actually?
  20. Plenty of nice guitars there. Are they supposed to sell?
  21. Got to pull this one out again to recommend "Flying Colors". Steve Morse, Casey McPherson, Neal Morse, Dave Larue, and Mike Portnoy. Quite a supergroup playing some psychedelic rock stuff, at anytime not commercial stuff. A new record is being announced for Sep/Oct I think.
  22. Buying a guitar kit for this price would be a no go for me. The risk to damage anything while replacing the knob is on the buyers side.
  23. In a tendency, I go for fatter necks. Over the years I have given up to think about it really. Simply, because you can't change the neck. My guitarsnI bought for many reasons but the neck. If it had the right neck, I'd not like the top or pickups or whatever. Flipping guitars just for the neck, therefore, would never make me happy.
  24. Definitely the wrong thought! You certainly need more guitars. On a homeside pitstop between different vacation locations I had picked up the MIK Standard for the first time in a year. Strings had been rodded a bit, but connected to the VAC25 it still had the uber nice single coil sound for what I had Leosounds made the special pickup creation. Then I realized how sensitive the Schaller LP trem works. On top, it all resonated nicely on the all alder made guitar. It was one of this moments a glass of great wine joins in to share.
