currypowder Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 And here's the original listing for several hundred less: https://jp.mercari.com/en/item/m59252445783 This ebay seller is one of many in Japan who lists guitars they don't own with the hope of a buyer coming forward willing to pay a high premium. It's important to note that the original listings indicates a repair (but not what the repair is). The ebay listing does not mention this. Given that there is a close up picture of the heel, I'm guessing that's where the repair is. If anyone is interested in this guitar, contact me. I can help get it for much cheaper than $2K.
cmatthes Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Is the Mercari listing for @$1,177 (US)? If that isn’t a super heavy one, and the neck isn’t super thin, that could be a great buy!
hamerhead Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Whaddaya think? Same one? If so, it's a regular '92 P90 Special that I had BCR Greg add the middle pickup to. Notice the center pickup is just slightly closer to the neck pickup. I don't recall it being especially heavy and the neck was typical of the period - sorta flat/wide - but not small. 20 years ago it was a nice guitar. .....and it made it all the way to Japan! ETA: there were no breaks/repairs 20 years ago.
burningyen Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Sure looks like the same one based on the spacing.
Jakeboy Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Wow, that is perfect with the cream covers and the third pickup.what a rocker.

Allow about $200 for shipping and proxy fees. My only reservation would be the noted repair. There's not really much, if any recourse should it turn out to be significant or poorly done.
