Short post tuners?

Question

I've been doing this waaay too long to be struggling like this....

I have an AllParts Fender-licensed Strat replacement neck that needs the correct length tuners. I tried Gotohs and Schallers that stuck out a mile before concluding I'm an idiot. Jeezus.

Anyways - youse guys got any recommendation on non-locking short post tuners? Cheap is good 'cuz that's how I roll (and it's just a Squier-based partscaster).

Thanks!

ETA: Amazon has Wilkinsons for $29. Good? Avoid?

You didn't have to go all the way to Gotoh and Schaller if you wanted confirmation that you're an idiot.

Also from Allparts  ... TK-7880 Gotoh SD91 Vintage-style Staggered 6-in-line Keys.  Shop them and you will find them cheaper.

These in their aged nickel are the go-to tuners for our Carondelet guitars. They are stellar.

^^Those look fantastic (I really like split shaft tuners).

I went with Hipshot Grip-Locks on my partscaster. They're staggered, so no string trees, and locking (if you're into that).  They also have this really cool mounting option if you don't want to drill more holes.

Those are superb as well. That's what I use on our fabs when people prefer locking tuners (I'm a Hipshot dealer).

The Hipshots are substantially more affordable than turnbutton-lock Gotohs. They also have over a dozen button shapes/materials from which to pick for customization.

IMG_8476.jpegI’m a fan of the Hipshots and have put them on several builds. As Jeff mentioned, lots to choose from there!

I think I'll give the Hipshots a try (never had any luck with split shafts).

Jeff - can you set me up? I'd rather get them from you than Amazon. I'll send a PM.
