I need a Hamer logo for this (WARNING: it's ugly!)

Question

My current project is to get this 1980 Special back into playable condition.  It was used and abused by a touring band in the early eighties and it shows.  Crimes were committed, some would say it's not worth saving but my buddy wants to play it again.  In defense of the roadies who worked on it, they did what they had to do to get to the next show.  Long-term consequences were never part of the equation.  These are the before pictures, I've now disassembled it and leveled and dressed the frets.  Cleaning and electronics are next.  I would love to surprise Gary with a proper Hamer logo on the headstock.  Where can I get one?  It has to be black for obvious reasons.

Not an easy task.

But please... get the logo after you address that awful headstock "repair."

Interesting. Don't get to see many of those with the bolt on neck.

Good luck with the repair. Please keep us updated.

I'm not doing anything with the headstock "repair" other than cut off the Frankenstein bolts.  I would love to be able to do a full restoration but that's not in the budget or time frame.  For now it just gets a logo if I can get one.

Do a search here for Dry Slide or Dry Transfer. There is a guy who has them but I don't have the info on hand.

I was checking out this guitar this morning and remembered your posting.... If for some reason you're not able to find one, you can try reaching out to this guy which had a similar issue,

Good luck in your quest 👍

I'm out at the moment (didn't have black ones anyway) but I get them custom printed at All Out Graphics in Vancouver. They won't do just one and you have some extras but you'll have some available for the next person looking for a logo. 😄

Or when you fix that ghastly headstock.

I have about 15 or 20 of them but unfortunately they are all white.  They are Hamer Special decals with the checkerboard.

A nickels worth of black Testors and a small paint brush would fix that.
