I put a pair of Greeback 10s in mine and they sounded AMAZING.  Got the bug to try some creambacks and wish I'd kept the GBs.
That little head also sounds pretty rad ran into a fullsized 412.

Also look at Ragin Cajun... there's enough of them out there... Maybe you'll get lucky and find a used pair.

I don't buy used, raw frame speakers any more. Been burned more than once.

I went thru WGS and got the GB 10s. $219 shipped. I've been a customer before and treated well.

Sweet!

Very interesting that several of the reviews on that link specifically mention the Marshall cab swap.

Please let us know how it goes!

Clean sounds are nice. OD sounds a little ragged unless the preamp gain is all the way up. Sounds KILLER with a Bogner LaGrange.

I ordered a Purple Plexi from the last Lovepedal blast. Can't wait to pair 'em up.

V is a ‘81 Greco MSV. All original and plays beautifully

Good eye. Yes, that’s the one. Using it to carry a Fernandes JEL clone. I admit that I got a bit wistful opening the case and seeing, “the original custom case” , badge. I’ve owned so many guitars that came with G&G cases and I’ve always admired the quality/styling of them. Another great American brand down the tubes

Side rant: I don’t know how successful the Epiphone KHammett Vs have been, but I wish Gibson would do a proper RI of a 1975 V. I have a newer, “70s V.” It’s very nice but it l would love a proper ‘75-‘82 V with the blunt headstock. Silverburst, sunburst or  natural, please.

Well, ah done dood it.

Installed the 25w/16ohm Green Berets in the ministack cabs. First off, one of the WGS 10's weighs more than the two stock Celestions. The cabs now feel like real equipment and not like toys anymore.

Installation was easy. I'm glad there was no soldering involved:

I don't know a lot about speakers, just what sounds good to my ear. The resulting upgrade has been more than worth it. The gain control is now useful through its whole range. No crackliness on lower settings any more. Really nice clean tones on both Hi/Low inputs. Plenty of volume and headroom. In fact, this would be gigable rig miced through a PA.

The tired old saw, “taking a blanket off the speakers”, certainly applies in this case.

I used a variety of boosts up front, but it gets a nice, beefy saturation on its own now. Blues Driver, treble boosters, TS9s...they all sounded killer.

The arrival of the PurplePlexi+ Boost will essentially turn this little thing into a 3-channel monster. Hoot-mon!

Someone here (maybe Brooks?) swapped a speaker for a 10” Ragin Cajun and ran with a Powerblock and had some rave reviews- would be interested to hear more about that.

And someone else (maybe Stike?) repurposed Marshall mini cabs as shop speakers, which I thought was a super cool idea. Did they swap speakers or use the stock cones? 🤔

Yes, & yes.

I used that rig w/ a Maxon tube screamer, played several gigs w/ it, it really cranked, I shoulda kept that. Whole rig fit in a duffle bag!
