RobB Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 They should have spent more. Pure excrement. 1 Quote
Steve Haynie Posted November 18, 2025 Posted November 18, 2025 I like the Johan Segeborn videos, but he might be running out of ideas for new videos. Then again, was there not a Pignose amp used on a ZZ Top album? Quote

Schenker used one (w/wah) on, “Lights Out.” He managed… I read through the liner notes for the, “Lights Out”, reissue and Ron Nevison made no mention of the Pignose. You can plainly hear that signature, “honk”, accentuated by the CryBaby. Makes me wonder why Nevison didn’t use the Pignose’s line out into the front of one of MS’s 50w Marshalls? Nothing a speaker swap couldn't fix, and depending on the model, an effect loop mod would be most excellent 🤙 Edited November 25, 2025 by Dave Scepter Quote

The Veteran 30s helped immensely with the Jube 12. They improved the sound so much. I installed a WGS Green Beret 10 and ET65 10 in the red Ministack. This combo gives a bit more headroom for a more full-range sound. I run both Lead 12’s preamp gains at about 11 o'clock (just enough to send a strong, not overdriven, signal to the master...) and use the AllPedal 1987 for stun mode. Also digging the Q-Zone, the lazy man's way to Schenker heaven, lol! 5 hours ago, velorush said: From memory, a Boss GE-7 could be a big help, too (good grief, was that really 40 years ago?). Those are great to bolster an anemic amp, but I've got the sound pretty dialed now. Edited November 26, 2025 by RobB 2 Quote
Hackubus Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 A Lead 12 ran into a 412 is actually quite badass sounding. Believe it, or don't. 1 Quote
