tommyh Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Epiphone Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured, Bourbon Burst – Gibson Double cut, bound mahogany body, flame maple veneer, two humbuckers....looks like...? I think there may have been a recent Custom Shop model, or the Spirit series in the '80s but.. Quote
django49 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 So, if it comes up under the "Stupid Deal of the Day" plan at $399(??) 3 Quote

bruce919 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 When I saw that on the Andertons video last week, I thought that is an Epiphone Spirit model. I think they were made in the Kalamazoo factory in the early 80's. Epiphone USA Spirit Figured Maple Top Sunburst 1982 w/OHSC | Reverb Quote
Hbom Posted February 4 Posted February 4 The blue one probably sounds better. Especially if they would get rid of that silly pickguard. 1 1 Quote
ZR Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Yes, not liking the pickguard. Otherwise it looks a lot like a Sunburst, especially the one Bruce posted above (which I like the finish of). But, it also looks somewhat like a 70 - 80s Washburn series they had named after birds; Falcon etc. if I remember correctly. I had one of those briefly until I traded it in towards a Peavey Classic VT series 2*12. When I traded it in the shop said it's not worth much because of a twisted neck. They said if you've only had it less than a year inside your bedroom then whoever sold you this thing sold it to you that way and you got ripped! I said, you guys sold it to me!!!! Uh, well, er, you must have left it in your car overnight, no? Well, er, stammer, stammer... Anyway, slightly off track but that's how I roll (hey, squirrel!!) I sold that amp to another guitarist in a band I was in when I upgraded? to the VTX series of the same amp. Last year we met up again and I played through that original amp after over 40 years!! It actually sounded pretty good and it still had its original power tubes!! They made some tough stuff! 2 1 Quote
