Should I spring for the Korina?

The way I see it (and this sort of echos Serial's point above), if you're going to order one, get Korina - no doubt about it.

If you want a mahogany Standard or a Standard Custom, buy one used. There are plenty of used ones around in great condition, and they do not hold thier value very well. Certainly not as well as the Korinas.

Korina all the way, baby!

If you get a chance to try out a variety of Standards, go with the one that you like to play the most. You do not see the maple top while you are playing. If the korina hits you, then buy it. If the mahogany body with the maple veneer makes you happy, then get it.

Have you thought about the gold hardware?

I could never deal with that personally.

That black standard is amazing ...

And your 79, BTMN ... I'm in love!

(trade for an archtop GT?)

If I could chose I'd go Korina one piece, natural finish, no pickguard, dots,

chrome hardware, and a SD custom, custom custom combo
