Ha!  I played that bassline during soundcheck last night hoping somebody would pick up the hint…

That's great! I played that song for my wife the other day. She didn't remember it.

Almost makes me think that girls back then pretended to like our rock music just to get boyfriends and future husbands. But they wouldn't do that right?

Oh I know. My wife still rocks out to Scorps, Y&T, Dream Theater, Rush and Buckcherry. So, she wasn't a complete poser! 😃

I went to see Triumph a few weeks ago, with April Wine opening. I think the tour may be over now, the last shows were in Boston (at least that is what it says on my concert shirt).

April Wine without Myles Goodwyn (RIP), was basically the band that had been touring with Myles, but with an officially endorsed new front man. It's not the same without Myles, but they got the crowd warmed up and singing along.

As for Triumph, they are/were a trio. The bassist, Mike, couldn't make it and they added two guys from The Conspirators, they are a great add. The additional drummer let Gil get out front and sing a few tunes, also synching two kits made a bonus add. As for Phil X, he replaced Rik way back when he left the band and filled in the high notes, as did Todd Kerns. The night I went, Phil X could not make it and Rik called up his old collaborator Steve Morse. That was a treat.

I am obviously a fan. The stands were full of us old guys n gals having a great time. We had good seats, about $270 total for both. Considering concert prices these days, not bad. Obviously more than my 1982 $18 stub.

What show was that, and did Steve Morse play on every song?

That was in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Yes, Steve Morse played on every song, including getting into some riffing back and forth with Rik Emmett. They were all smiles,  as was I.

According to this you saw Derek Sharp.

“TONIGHT we are in Moncton, New Brunswick. Gonna be HUGE!” he continued. “Hope your week is going great. Happy Wednesday!”

The clarification came after fans noticed Phil X’s absence from the Halifax performance. Derek Sharp stepped in as a temporary replacement.
