Fuzz boxes

Everybody has their opinion on what the best overdrive is. I have that covered. Looking for a fuzz box to kick on for small lead breaks. Would like to keep the price under $150.

Some I've thought about:

Big Muff

Voodoo Superfuzz

Fulltone 69, 70, and Soulbender

What else is worth taking a look at, in my price range?

3 different fuzz flavors:

ZVex Fuzz Factory. Spendy and not the most user-friendly, but very versatile and capable of of some truly outrageous sounds.

PE Experience. Cool octave fuzz plus a nice fuzz face imitation.

Big Muff (get an old one) or DOD Classic Fuzz (sleeper pedal - very similar to the BM).

As you can tell, I love the appropriately placed rude fuzz tone.

Try some old school stuff...

Just a couple of ideas...

Sometimes they are a bit noisey, but you know they work...

Foxx Tone Machine (If you can find one)

Chris-It 'aint boutique or anything but I use the Marshall Bluesbreaker. Works as either a boost or overdrive. The thing I like most about it is that when you kick it on, you are *heard*. I use it in boost mode on my TSL601 loop.

The McFuzz is a great choice. I have played with most of the boutique fuzzes that are out today. Here are some of my favorites:

The wildest fuzz company with many products in your price range is Effector 13:

The following are out the the price range you specified, but are worth checking.

The wildest Big Muff is the MJM Foxey Fuzz:

The most musical Big Muff is the Frantone Peachfuzz:

The finest germanium Fuzz face is the Jacques Ltd. hand made Wercer Box:

Pro Analog Scary Face (a little pricey):

Well...if you read the reviews and try one you might have to agree. The Jekyl & Hyde unit is the shiz. I have one and Its great...and you can combine overdrive with distortion or use them independently. Street price is about $114

Foxx Tone Machine (If you can find one)

Foxx is actually re-issuing Tone Machine, that should help the search

My suggestion, however, is Keeley's Fuzz Head. IMHO you can't go wrong with this unit. A used one should fit your budget!
