teleman Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I met initially John through this forum and through doing a bit of guitar business with him found many mutual interests that we shared. This is a bit of a shocker. A great person who will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Mad Man Mike Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I never knew the man but to loose a family member is always sad. All I can say from our family to yours. You will be in or prayers. Just think of the music that he is now playing in Heaven with GOD and family memebers that have went before him. Another comferting thought is we will eventually meet our family members again.
sirDaniel Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 He was a true HAMER FAN. He loved the guitars alot.geez, having his own "NIGHTWOLF BURST" named after him.
Cary Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 My condolences to his friends and family. I'm sure yesterday was a tough Father's Day at the Nelson house.
JohnnyScarp Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I just found out this morning. Sympathy to Coletta, Gretchen and family.I'll sure miss him. He helped make the blues come alive for me. I count it a blessing to have partnered with John at our twice monthly coffee house gigs over the last several years. "Nightwolf",I will always remember you. Thanks for all the fun times! Rest in Peace.Scarp
Guest galejt Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I never had the pleasure of meeting him.55 is way too young, way too much music lost.RIP good buddy...
tobereeno Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 I always respected the man and he certainly treated me kindly here on the board. Wish I would have met him in person, I really do.
Guest Sue O'Donnell Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I am Nightwolf's sister and miss him so much. Thank you to all of you, it is great to know that his memory and music will live on. God wanted him for a reason, I think He wanted John's music closer to home. I will be with him one day soon and will have him by my side for eternity.
Nightwolfs wife Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I just wanted to thank all of you for the beautiful words spoken about John. He was so dedicated to his family, friends and music. John was my very best friend, and a better Dad, you will never find. We were together for 27 years, and someday I'll be able to hug and kiss him again, but for now, I am filled with wonderful memories.God bless you and thank you again.Love, Coletta
El Kabong Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 Nightwolf was always patient with giving advice, no matter how strange the question was. Godspeed.
pesocaster Posted June 22, 2006 Posted June 22, 2006 How about pinning this to the top for a week or so....
SteveC Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I have been out of town for most of the last 2 weeks (without computer), and just learned of Nightwolf's passing.I had the privilege of calling John a friend, and was fortunate to have shared the stage with him quite a few times over the years. My deepest condolences to Coletta, Gretchen and the rest of his family. John always had a kind word to say, and he shared his love and knowledge of music freely. He was direct, honest, and to-the-point. He definitely enriched my life!I will really miss him. I take comfort in knowing that when my time comes to go home, I'll see him again. StevieC
