DavidE Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Killer price on the chambered Monaco Elite! Chambered is the way to go on these kids! Even IIIII paid more than that for my chambered Elite. :-)
MCChris Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Killer price on the chambered Monaco Elite! Chambered is the way to go on these kids! Even IIIII paid more than that for my chambered Elite. :-)So tempted, and I'm in Chicagoland. But that unpotted Seth would not work through my loud, gainy rig.Hey, however I can justify NOT parting with $1.1K right now LOL!One day I will have me a chambered Monaco Superpro.
BadgerDave Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I could swap out that pickup for you, Chris. And I'm just up the road . . .I am the BadgerEnabler!
DEMENTED Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 On the Tech 21 XXL...how much is "gobs" of distortion...'cause I am looking for something with "mega-gobs" of distortion..

discountsounds Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 I could swap out that pickup for you, Chris. And I'm just up the road . . .I am the BadgerEnabler! That's right! Pick up the guitar and swap out the pickup all in one local trip. BadgerDave and I are within mere minutes of each other now...On the Tech 21 XXL...how much is "gobs" of distortion...'cause I am looking for something with "mega-gobs" of distortion..Well, I'm no expert when it comes to distortion pedals, but it's TomTerrific-approved if that tells you anything. I can't guarantee mega-gobs, but that warp control makes things pretty crazy.

Ok, so what's the difference between an Elite and a Superpro? Seriously, I don't know.
discountsounds Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 I've always been under the impression that the guitars are identical except Superpros are chambered.
Dumo Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Super Pros are Fender scale too?Super Pros are Fender scale too?
discountsounds Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 There you go - Superpro scale is 25-1/2" compared to Monaco Elite scale which is 24-3/4".
DavidE Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 So, if I have a chambered Monaco Elite, the only difference will be the scale length? I realize that can be a major difference in feel / snappiness of the strings... .etc... But I'm cool with the feel and sound of the Monaco Elite. Unless you wanna trade for something.
discountsounds Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 Someone from TGP is asking about the size of the fretwire on the Superpro. I have no idea - does anybody know offhand? Jumbo? Medium?
DavidE Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Elites also have the downsized bodies, no?No. Elites have normal size bodies. Same size as an Artist or Les Paul (same case for all).I was wondering if the SuperPro has an UPsized body. It looks larger in the photos, but then so does a Mirage and it fits into a LP or Artist case.
kizanski Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Elites also have the downsized bodies, no?Elites also have the downsized bodies, yes.Edit: ...or, to be more specific (as DavidE mentions above), the Superpro has a larger body.I believe the mentioning of "downsized" was as compared to the Superpro>The Superpro is alotta guitar - especially for $1175.

I still have a few...
cmatthes Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I STILL want Kiz' red Firebird. Of course, I STILL don't have anything to trade for it...
kizanski Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I STILL want Kiz' red Firebird. Of course, I STILL don't have anything to trade for it... I'm trying to spare everyone the sight of you and Serial on stage with red and SFG Firebird I's. It would just be too weird!
Mike_C Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The Superpro is alotta guitar - especially for $1175.Damn Straight. BTW the Red Firebird rocks. As for the differences between the monaco elite and the Monaco Superpro and the MonacoThe Elite has a smaller body like the studio or artists modelsThe Monaco Superpro and the Monaco are sized like the Newport. As for the chamber I believe the Superpro and the Monaco have the same hollow body carve. The difference is the superpro has the maple top and no f holes and the Monaco has the spruce top, f holes and the bigsby.Of course there are some cool variations like the Peso's superpro or my superpro with the f-holes and bigsby. Oh before I forget I have to give props to Chris's caddy green Monaco III and the Korina Subtone Monaco from Willcutt.
DavidE Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Thanks Mike. I don't think I'd like a chambered solidbody as big as my Newport, but who knows?
kizanski Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The 25.5" scale is what makes it for me (and another reason I like the Mirage as well).
