SOLD!!!

I'm going to regret this...

But I have to sell #30 of 30 '06 Redwood Studio Custom Limited Edition.

I just did some financial end-of-year calculations and I've got last quarter taxes due. So, this is must be passed on to another of our brotheren in the family. Sorry no trades on this one as Uncle Sam won't take guitars as payment.

Perfect condition. Not a mark on it. Nothing changed, modded or touched. Still has original strings! The last of the 30 made. And of the others I've seen, this may be one of, if not the best of the 30. Plays like butter. Extremely resonent un-plugged. Harmonics just pop out of it. Featherweight at 7lbs 5.2 oz! (Pro scale) Purchased new from one of our own Al Pep - Lost Art Vintage. It's never left my non-smoking home and only lightly played by me. Comes with all the original case-candy and original mint-cond. Hamer hard-case.

Features:

- Bound Mahogany body with a hand-carved, flamed Redwood top.

- Bound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and 10 Mother-of Pearl "Victory" inlays.

- Deep 'Belly Cut' back.

- Tone Pros nickel hardware.

- Seymour Duncan SLU humbucking pickups.

- Nickel Schaller tuners.

- Scale Length: 24 3/4"

- PM or email me for more info.

Beautiful guitar

How would you compare the redwood to maple tonewise???

I had first read before buying it that Redwood was 'brighter' than maple, but that's not the case at all. It's very similar. I've owned 2 dozen maple-topped LP's Hamers, PRS's over the years and this one sounds as good or better than any of the ones I've owned. It does have one thing that amazes me, it oozes pickside harmonics ('ala Billy Gibbons). You can get them so easily. I've never played a guitar that does this so well.

In my experience, the Redwood loses a little "sizzle" but gains a little "pop". Where the maple has a very distinct high end and is very clear, the Redwood is smoother, and the notes seem to jump off the guitar more.

Describing sunsets is easier. LOL

I think the Redwood is more organic and vocal sounding. Similar to spruce but clearer.

I think what Greggles is trying to convey is that.."it's exactly the same only different"?? lol!! <_<

IMHO the most beautiful Hamer available.

Great SLU pickups also !!!!!!

Redwood isn't used very often in the electric guitar realm, but it is used more often in acoustics. Acoustic players describe the tone as Cedar on steroids. Having played a few Redwood topped acoustics I would absolutely agree with this assessment.

I changed the strings on my Phoenix (Redwood top, Zircote B&S) from lightly coated Elixrs, my teacher couldn't hear me in the big room we meet in, I quit taking the Phoenix, and put on Alchemy from Dean Markley (thanks lil buddy) and discovered that, in at least my case, and in the case of an acoustic, a really nice acoustic, a freakin' really nice acoustic, it takes a light touch to bring out the best, but fukk me, it was just beautiful. Great balance, even greater tone, complex, pick sensitive, I'm in heaven, I'm in heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak. And I seem to find the happiness I seek...tra la la.

Another Redwood lover here. Have a dreadnought with Cocobolo b/s and flamed Redwood top. Agree 100% with your description of the qualities of this wood. Beautiful to look at and a freakin' eargasm to play...

Last chance. I've got an international buyer in negotiations. I'd much rather it stay here with the US Hamer family. I don't want to deal with Intl shipping.

Sold

Oh... This hurts.
