kizanski Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Kiz commented in another thread that the only thing (in HIS opinion) uglier than a guitar with F-holes, is a guitar with a SINGLE F-hole. I disagreed and pointed out a few examples of some nice Tele Thinlines, which I'm pretty sure he wouldn't find all that offensive. At least that's what I think they're talking about... I like these f-holes, right 'chere: So do I. It's cmatthes that I find offensive.
serial Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Britney's obviously got an F hole. Too bad it's not just painted on like those old Gretsches. Poor kids.
cmatthes Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Yes, that style F hole was first used on any musical instrument by Leo Fender himself. Eh??!! Leo had long sold out to CBS when Fender used that SINGLE F-hole in the late 60s on the Thinlines, but tons of luthiers and companies used/uses F-holes to some degree for the last few centuries...

Sarcasm dude. The links showed stradivarious violins with similar f-holes.
BubbaVO Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 , i think alot of people in the used hamer market rather buy a hamer studio with a flame top, or one of the models like an eclipse, or special that are in the $500ish range.this is just my 2ยข.When it's all said and done, this is a well built guitar. The market will decide what it's worth. But if you don't care about looks, I think you'll get a pretty good deal if you believe that the Hamers built in CT are better than the ones built in Arlington Heights. Does anyone hear believe that?
