BCR Greg Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I was on the design team for these, the first electric guitars available from acoustic masters Breedlove. These two are prototypes, using the Breedlove CM body shape, all handmade and chock full of cool and interesting details. Fantastic craftsmanship, just amazing. The very first Mark I Prototype, this year's November calendar guitar. Myrtlewood over the sickest walnut imaginable.... ...And the third Mark I prototype, and see if you notice a pronouced Greggie influence.... I spec'ed Lollars, TonePros, chambered bodies, a few other things.... By the way, the Mark II guitars will be a little more conventional is shape, the idea was to jump in with a strong Breedlove influence, and the body shape is prominent throughout the line(especially on the exquisite mandolins...)
edgar_allan_poe Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Tone report sir!!!! What do they sound like? Especially the Walnut/Myrtlewood. I dig the shape BTW.
bach Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I'm mesmerized by the top on the P90 guitar. I think it's my all time favorite. Really nice! And available with optional individual volume knobs!
Steve Haynie Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 What kind of list price do those beautiful Breedlove guitars have?
Mike_C Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 They sort of look like a chopped BC Rich eagle or an shaper angled version of a rick turner model one.
DavidE Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Parker also put out an odd-shaped acoustic recently.Breedlove makes a hell of a guitar.

BCR Greg Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 Tone report sir!!!! What do they sound like? Especially the Walnut/Myrtlewood. I dig the shape BTW. Very clear and shimmery(if that's a word), the body is chambered and the tone is quite vocal. NOT a heavy metal guitar. The main criterion was that the guitars be alive acoustically BEFORE the electronics were a factor in the tone, and these guitars RING. The Lollars are medium output, and tapping them with the push/push tone control adds a lot of new flavors. I have no guitars that came close to sounding like these. They have their own voice, and it's damn pretty.
