murkat Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Well, I'm hooked up with some other hasbeens and doin some stuff that they like and I am clueless, I need a good reliable guitar tab online joint that is reliable, etc. please direct me. THanks!
murkat Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 oh geeze, hendrix, foofoofightrs, sabbath, floyd, hagar, stp, these guys are allover the place, no direction.
currypowder Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 ultimate-guitar.com is OK. Since the tabs are user created, they can be a little inconsistent. I've found that I can usually find a reasonably correct tab for most of the songs that will at least get me in the vicinity, then can figure out or fill in the errors or missing pieces.
Hackubus Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 www.powertabs.netDownload the powertabs software & you're set. Lotsa hendrix, foofoofightrs, sabbath, floyd, hagar, stp there. Best of all, it's pretty accurate compared to the online text tabs you find.

DavidE Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I'm learning a bunch of new (to me) songs for the new version of my band. I found a lot of horrible tabs. Some of these people have no ear. Anyway, what I found helpful was youtube. Lots of videos, live videos etc... of the original artists so you can often at least see close to what they're playing or at least a hand position on a neck to put you in the right place to figure it out for yourself.
Michael_ Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 youtube is good to see how such and such person actually played it. for notation there is no substitute for www.powertabs.net, as already mentioned, i think.

The player is a little weak, but maybe if I adjust some settings I can make it sound better. Tabs seem pretty accurate and you can do a lot with it.
