PSA: '91 custom Hamer

Yes.

That's my old guitar. I ordered it from Hamer (through Dave Kenney) in 1990. Standards had been out of production for a few years, and I guess Dave felt badly that somebody bought Standard # 0221 out from under me at his shop, so he lobbied for Hamer to make one for me. I received it in '91.

It is a great guitar, and I've been wondering where it ended up. One of the best playing Standards I've ever owned. The sig on the front was done backstage in Wilmington, DE in 1996 by Rick (of course), and he actually sat down with it for a couple of minutes and we chatted about it and some of his Hamers. The backplate was signed later, in 2001, at an after-show party with the band upstairs at the 9:30 Club here in DC.

I had not planned to ever sell it, which is why I got it autographed, but sometimes GAS gets the better of ya, right?

Cool guitar, and I've communicated with the current seller and he seems to be a good guy.

Here's a shot (pre-autograph) in '92 from my deck:

Hey, guys -- new member to this board, although I've been lurking for the past year. I'm the current owner of this guitar -- feel free to shoot me an email if you've got any questions: peter (at) petereconomy.com -- thanks!

That's cool that you own both of those - Dave Kenney was selling #0221 with original PAFs, but offered it for a few hundred cheaper with other pickups in it. I don't remember which pickups he sold with the guitar though - I thought he also had the original Hamer pickups in the case.

When I got it, It had a Dead Gibson Paf in the Neck,(Not sure of it's age) and a 500T in the bridge. Great guitar and I actually got it cheaper than the "91".
