Stokesdead Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 If anyone is looking for an early Hamer Special in Natural, PM or email me at stokesdead AT yahoo DOT com. I have lots of other detailed pictures. This one just shows off the flame the best. I have the Dimarzio pups picture that were in the guitar when i got it. Currently has duncans installed though. Has brand new Dunlop frets and a newly cut bone nut installed. new pots because the originals wouldn't come clean. have all the parts and will include them in the sell. Thanks, Chris Stokes
Stokesdead Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 Couple of things I need to specify.Neck is very medium to my hands. I know everyone says Specials from this period are pencil thin but it seems to be very similar to what Hamer is making today in the "vintage" neck carve.Comes with HSC but is not the original case. It is a very nice TKL case that is probably 2 years old.Fret wire is Dunlop 8105 I think. What ever is the closest to what Hamer is using today. It does have the checkerboard logo.Asking $825 shipped to your door in CONUS but if you have a different number in mind please make me an offer. Thanks again,Chris Stokes
Steve Haynie Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I got to check out this guitar yesterday afternoon. The neck feels about like an early 90's Special, but slightly more narrow. It sounded great through an amp!
Stokesdead Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 Thanks Steve! oh and bump...lol~Chris Stokes
belgian Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 These are as good as a 1500 $ Sunburst...., I can testify.

Stokesdead Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 thanks guys. The guitar is really great. Only selling because of finances. I had lots of initial interest at the original price but I lowered that looking to move this thing NOW. lol If any one has any questions please let me know. ~Chris Stokes
Stokesdead Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 1980 special would have been a maple laminate. If you look in the pics you can see what I mean. The special FM name came latter.~Chris
gregc Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 SOLD pending full payment......Sorta makes it sound like you don't trust the buyer, no ???????????Good luck with the sale. nice guitar!
