I saw it last night. The seller mentioned a clear coat crack on the back of the headstock when I asked about breaks and repairs. It looks like the guitar I wanted and I was hoping it belongs to one of you guys which doesn't seem to the case. Hope this guy will post more pics.
cornjulio Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 From looking at the pictures I'd say the serial no is: 9 0871 compared to him saying it's 9 0817.... From looking at the pictures I'd say the serial no is: 9 0871 compared to him saying it's 9 0817.... Well now I got it: "9-0817 would be the eight hundred and seventeenth one made in 1979" !!!

Not exactly. #9 0817 was the 817th made since 1977 using that number scheme (which they still use). #9 0817 is a dot neck sunburst Sunburst. #9 0871 is indeed a black dot neck Sunburst (dated 4/9/79).

Yeah, the new pics posted show the serial number as #9 0871. Actually looks to be in halfway decent shape, but I won't be bidding on it... sk

Feynman Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 Not me, but I woulda been had I not gotten this 80s-shredder bug in my arse. Go for it.
Guest pirateflynn Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 There are a couple of bidders who are driving the price up unnecessarily chasing a proxy bid.
