Hamerica Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 "... However, even if it wasn't jacked with, the BIN price is high." -Austin"Not high enough, apparently" - Chris M.The BIN was probably a tad high but not totally out of range especially with a flight case. Yes, it had some alternations but nothing that was so major that would stop someone from purchasing. Again, the issue is "find another one" Its funny. Everytime one shows up another shows up right behind it. There is that phrase - "Feast or Famine."Hamerica
murkat Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 If you ask me, people should be banned after selling something THIS cool! Wow. simply baddass.
MR714 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I'm really surprised by the lack of GT porn on this thread!!!
ecnal Posted October 1, 2008 Author Posted October 1, 2008 I'm really surprised by the lack of GT porn on this thread!!! So where's that one? I love it!
zorrow Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 How about an A7? Check this out: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.p...st&p=338406 It's quite close to a GT, and a good builder can make your dream come true from that one, IMHO.

I guess it could be shaved.
zorrow Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 How about an A7? Here. Kiz, the boomers first and now this... You are on fire, man!
Jason01 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 The neck on my A7 feels pretty much the same as a GT I briefly owned.
joshkava Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Jason .. that black phantom you posted is gorgeous!!!! nice pic, too! There was a banished board member that had a few of them. Just curious, but how does someone get banished from the board? Is there an issue of trustworthiness associated with a member who has been kicked? He got baninshed for being a flaming a-hole on this board However, I haven't seen any evidence from his auctions/sales on other boards that he is anything other than trustworthy when it comes to buying and selling. He refinishes Hamers and sells them on eBay from time to time. Does excellent work from what I can tell. -Austin
formula73 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Looks like an awesome job. If you have some more pics I'd like to see them. That's actually the restoration work of the previously-mentioned banned member. From what I've seen, he does great work, but tends to be a bit excitable about some things. I was on deployment when it all went down, but I would LOVE to have seen the fireworks. It was Ken...something...right?
zorrow Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I should have his contact info somewhere, as I sold my Vector KK to him -- I can have a look at home and come back to you, if you want.BTW, he is a nice guy to deal with, and yes, he does cool restoration jobs. Actually, I bet he would make of that A7 a hell of a Phantom.
ecnal Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Someone hooked me up with the banned guy, who was fresh out of GT's but was nice to talk to.
zorrow Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Someone hooked me up with the banned guy, who was fresh out of GT's but was nice to talk to. I really think he can do a serious work to that A7... Can you imagine it in black?
Jason01 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Yea, that was Kens restoration job. I stripped off the horrible purple paint someone had tried refinishing it with and he bought it from me unfinished and completed it. It was originally candy apple red, shame that someone stripped it off and decided it looked better in a runny coat of metallic purple. I'm just curious here but why not just get an A5? Too many pickups?
RoyB Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Someone hooked me up with the banned guy, who was fresh out of GT's but was nice to talk to. I really think he can do a serious work to that A7... Can you imagine it in black? :) Unless you could do the work yourself it would be cheaper to buy a GT than to pay for all the work it would take to make a A7 into a GT clone. It can be done, but man that's a lot of work to do that job right. I'm thinking of doing something close in my topic and I can do the work, but I was not looking for a project that big. The A7 would work fairly easy if you did not need it to be a dead on GT copy.
zorrow Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Well, I just think those Phantoms with six-in-line headstocks and the GT-like bodies look cool as hell. I wouldn't need an GT exact copy. I just dig the body shape and the access it seems to give to the higher frets.Edited to add: does anyone have a Phantom A5 for sale? In what price range are they?
ecnal Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Bump. Get in line, KevinDK! BTW, there is a board member who recently had a GT who maybe was interested in selling, but couldn't name a price, and since I couldn't either, he might still have it. And maybe is still interested in maybe selling it. I can PM you unless he wants to jump in on the thread. I'm still looking and will pay $$ for the right one. (Not as much as I'd have to pay if Hamer would allow me to order a new one, but maybe close depending on the guitar)

Jason01 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 That black one is on Ebay right now. No I don't own it nor have I ever, just saw it on there and know Ecnal's been looking for a while (as well as some others) so figured I'd bump the thread. You still out there Ecnal?
