bubs_42 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Thanks for looking. What I have hear is a 96 Daytona in a... I would say fairly rare color. The guitar plays flawlessly and is in great shape. NEW PRICE $535.00 SHIPPED WITH HAMER HARD SHELL CASE. FINAL PRICE DROP. MORE GUITARS TO COME! Description. Body, Color is best describe as a Violet/Plum. I liked the color with this pickguard. No Gashes, No Scrapes, No heavy wear to the finish. There is only two things to bring up about the body. The back has no belt rash, but it does have a series of impressions between the front of the Backplate and the Neck Plate. Almost in a straight line. No scratchin but just light impressions. The Neck pocket has a pc of finish missing. There is no damage, ding, gash..just to be clear. The white spot below it is Hameritis one small spot that is it. I could not get it to perfect shot of it. No lifting, no loose finish and that erea is smooth as could be you can push on it and the finish is not going anywhere. Neck. is straight, frets are clean and slightly larger than my other Daytona. I think the Blonde Daytona I have has had a dressing or two. The edge of the fret board is a little tented from wear but is still clean. No finish issues. One ding in the fret board just under the 14 fret. Very minor but I'm completely Honest. The back of the neck is Clean, Clean. No flame in this one sadly, sorry. Electronics. Bill and Beck Noisless, which IMHO are Freakin Awsome. the Tone pot is Push Pull and alters the Bridge and Neck pickups. It is Very Useful. I'm going to make the same changes to my other Daytona. Comes in a non original HSC ,2 packs of strings and a fresh set on it when she leaves. Sorry No Trembar. I have been looking for one but have not been lucky enough to find one. This one does have the backplate and my otherone does not. But I'm leaving it on this one. The guitar is truely clean, with only the specific details mentioned. Feel free to ask any questions, please PM me or email. This guitar is FS here only. $575. Shipped. Paypal OK.
holLoWskull Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Very nice! I have one in the exact color too (tranparent purple) and you're right...it's a fairly rare color on Daytonas. Your's is a late 96' model based on the number and the Schaller locking tuners (mine was made a little earlier in 96' and has the Sperzels). Not that any of that matters, but I guess I just start rambling when I see purple USA Hamers Good luck with the sale, seems like a reasonable price.
bubs_42 Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Forgot about that guitar.... You need to have Matching Guitars. BTW There is one Dent on the guitar. In the second set of pictures, third down. A shot of the back lower. There is one on the bottom you can see it in the picture. I just noticed it in the picture and got it back out to check. Never noticed it before. More Pics
Submariner85 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I would consider a Daytona if it had a humbucker in it. Was there ever such a thing?
carfish7 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I would consider a Daytona if it had a humbucker in it. Was there ever such a thing?A few, I think. But just drop one in yourself and be done with it(Single-sized Lil' Screamin' Demon gets my vote, w/ a tap switch)!CJ
bubs_42 Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 I would consider a Daytona if it had a humbucker in it. Was there ever such a thing? I've never seen a factory Daytona with a Humbucker. There are so many after market pups out there that would be not problem to get a single coil Sized Stacked Humbucker. I actually have a Protrack and two Cruisers with Black Cover that I was going to put in. Then I decided that these pups sounded so good and I have enough Humbucker Guitars for that.
phoenix Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Neck size compared to things other than the same model and weight would help captain sphincter decide.
BubbaVO Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I would consider a Daytona if it had a humbucker in it. Was there ever such a thing?Centaura would come close.
bubs_42 Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Neck size is a good Medium. Let see... Smaller that a Medium 90's Studio. It's no Early JB Strat or anything. Comfortable.
cmatthes Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I've only seen one or two with a Bridge HB from the factory. Purple Transparent was a stock/standard finish for Daytonas in '96, but don't see that often. I'm pretty sure Sperzels were stock on that though.
Submariner85 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Nice looking guitar. Is that the original pickguard?
bubs_42 Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 I've never had it off. But it is a daytona Pickguard. Probly an aftermarket. I have a spare pickguard I layed over it and the patern is a perfect match.

I'm pretty sure Hamer changed from Sperzels to Schallers around the same time they went to Schallers on the Mirage and T-51 line in mid-late 96'. Based on the 647XXX serial that would put that guitar in that mid/late 96' time frame. I would consider a Daytona if it had a humbucker in it. Was there ever such a thing? I am one of the fortunate few to own one, which ironically is transparent purple like the one for sale in this thread (though the stock Duncans are out of the guitar now but safely stashed away in case of a desire to go 100% stock again).
mirrorimij Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I think Hollowskull is right about the tuner timeline.
bubs_42 Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 The tuners are original. I have not doubts about it.
bubs_42 Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Bump. If anyones on the fence, Email me and ask lots of questions. Really sounds great with the B&B pickups. I'll also knock some cash off if you don't want the Case. I will send it in another that fits it to a T. Thanks for looking.
Submariner85 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Very F'n Cool Are those Schecter Superrock pickups?
holLoWskull Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Very F'n Cool Are those Schecter Superrock pickups? Nope...Tom Anderson SD-1 neck, STK-1 middle, H3 bridge ....and in the process, a bump for bubs_42's awesome Daytona.
