veatch Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I have a confession: I have a weird thing for output jacks. I think it all started in the 80's when i saw the Jackson Rhoads V with the jack on the side. I liked it so much, i had to mod my Gibson V i had at the time: The obsession was repressed until i picked up a too-cool for MLA Cali: I must have given in at some point, 'cause i picked up a Brian Moore (probably one of the cooler output jacks i can think of...): And the new Hamers have the tidy little Tele style jack - always a crowd pleaser: So, what's a brother to do? I've given in. Post yer kool output jacks here. Input jacks need not apply.
BubbaVO Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Some men prefer the input....other men prefer the output. But do not misunderstand me...I do not judge.

atquinn Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 And the new Hamers have the tidy little Tele style jack - always a crowd pleaser: Never really paid any attention to jacks until this one on my 06. Love it! -Austin
crunchee Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 What's pron? OK, so that's a prawn. So what's pron?
Hackubus Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 One time I was talking in my sleep and my wife swears I was referring to myself as "Vincent Prawni"My '08 Hamer Std has the tele jack cup, and it's a bit of love/hate for me*. It won't accept certain 90 angle plugs & that just pisses me off to no end. *Edited for actual Hamer content.
chap Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I have a confession too: I like my solid state amp Ibanez SZ (sold)
veatch Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 OK, so that's a prawn. So what's pron? Pron Chap - Niiiiice

Works great for quick guitar changes. But for you 90' guys, you can remove the 2 screws and pull it out. Sometimes there is a nut or washer that you can remove so a little more of the jack sticks out which will allow the 90' plug to fit. You can't go too far outward however or you will block the mounting screws.

veatch Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 Does make more sense on the top wing, bottom seemed simple to me - just a short hole to the control cavity...
Stike Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Does make more sense on the top wing, bottom seemed simple to me - just a short hole to the control cavity... Bottom is more simple, did that to my Epiphone Moderne but wished it was on the top wing so when the V came along that's what I did. Took a REALLY long dril bit to run a wire hole to the bridge pickup and then to the control cavity.
