elduave Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Haven't seen a Phantom Custom for a while. I need one for my stable... Man! I am not a fan of the "dry" smiley! It's right up there with Poe's ass.
elduave Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Sorry? What does the dry smiley mean to you? Enlighten me! No disrespect.
cmatthes Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I've played that guitar and am also a fan of those Phantoms in general - very cool guitars! About the smiley thing - to some people it means "Hmmmmmm..." - as in "Hmmmmm - thinking about this some more..." Like the typed word on the Internet, smilies are definitely NOT a substitute for actual verbal communication, and may be (usually are) interpreted differently by different people.

Cmatthes hit it on the head and point taken.
carfish7 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I had a chance to sample this guitar as well, at my first 4-3-2-1 jam.I totally dug it, and wound up with my very own Phantom Custom a few months later after just missing out on this beauty when Bruce moved it.I remember that the neck was perfection, and the tones were very bright and chimey. Great guitar here, folks.Z

MCChris Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 I remember that the neck was perfection, and the tones were very bright and chimey. Great guitar here, folks.ZZ nailed it. Pretty much my impression of that one. Great neck.Yep. Bright and chimey due in large part to the THICK slab of seriously flamed maple on top. If you ever wanted faux Tele sounds and the versatility of a Strat/PRS in a 24.75" scale, this is the ticket.
Bloozguy Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 E-mail sent. That guitar just needs to live in Minneapolis!
