aneurysm Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Hi, I´m new to this Forum and i´ve got a few Questions concerning the Vector Korina!! Well, where should i start first , i didn´t really pay Attention to Hamer cause i always eyed after a good Gibson but the Vector Korina was an eyecatcher from the very first beginning! To make a long Story short, is this Guitar capable of producing rich and harmonically Feedback? Does it have good Sustain? The Problem is i never played one nor do i have the Chance to cause i live in Austria and we even don´t have an authorized dealer! I myself own a Gibson Les Paul Premium Plus ( 2004 ) which i really like! But i need a good backup Guitar and you know i always wanted a V!!! Any help would be great cause i´m reallly considering in buying it!! Thanks, Mario
hardheartedbill Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 big fat tone, they ring like a bell and sustain like crazy, one of the best sounding guitars I've tried from any maker
tafkathundernotes Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Actually, I think there is a dealer in Austria who posts here occasionally. Nice collection of Hamers (not sure if he's an "authorized" dealer) Anybody remember his name?
tafkathundernotes Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 It's Roli: Here's the link:Kufsteinermusikhaus
aneurysm Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Hey, Thanks very much! Well now i know what i ´ve to do!!!
aneurysm Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Hi,does anyone know some stores in Germany which have Hamer guitars?thx,Mario
Jeroen Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 "Musik Produktiv" had some Hamers back in the 80's and 90's, they were authorized if I am right at that time, but not anymore. Don't know if they still have them.Jeroen
belgian Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Except for London, there's no place in Europe where you can find US Hamers in shops. Last year (november) they had 4 US Hamers on the wall. A newport, some studio's and an artist. (Soho soundhouse is the shop). Now they have some artists and an improv in stock). There's a new dealer in Belgium, check the dealer pages on the Hamer site, who's trying to get Hamer back in shops overhere, but what I hear from them, most shops are only interested in the import series. You could otherwise try one of the fine dealers here on the board, they will be happy to help you out on getting a US vector in Austria. Try BCR or Elduave - they have experience in shipping to Europe.
aneurysm Posted July 23, 2005 Author Posted July 23, 2005 Guys, Thanks very much you were really helpful! Does anyone own this Guitar and give me their impression about it! How does it compare to a Gibson Les Paul Standard? Many People state that Les Pauls are sounding fuller due to the Body!?! Are the Vector Korinas in the same League like the Gibson Reissue Flying V`s ? Thanks, Mario
bluehugh2 Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 The Hamer Korina blows the Gibson flying V away. I had an 82 Heritage Gibson Korina V - they go for 3-4k right now. The Hamer blows it away.I should add that the Hamer body is 1.75" thick and the Gibson V is 1.5" thick. Generally, the Hamer is light enough that the thickness is a good thing - adds a little girth. My Vector (#008 of the 1997 run) is 7.1 lbs! That 6lb 15 oz Vector at Willcutt's is driving me crazy - somebody buy it!
Roli Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Actually, I think there is a dealer in Austria who posts here occasionally. Nice collection of Hamers (not sure if he's an "authorized" dealer) Anybody remember his name?Just to get things clear:I´m not a dealer! The "Kufsteiner Musikhaus" is the shop of my friend Horst! He was so kind to put my guitars on his site. This is the reason, why they are not for sale!Roli
kraut Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Hey aneurysm,in Germany there is no more distributor. When I bought my t-51 and the Cruise bass froma local dealer, he told me that the distributor Musik Meyer gave up the Hamerproducts. But they still deal with other Kaman products like Takamine and Ovation. MaybeMusik Meyer can tell you where to buy a brandnew Hamer in Germany. Some local musicstores still have NOS or used Hamers (e.g. rareguitars.de). In the past I bought 4 guitars (one of themwas the daytona) in U.S.A. I always had good experience. Greetings from South GermanyKraut
BCR Greg Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 We export to Europe is you cannot find anyone there to help you.

aneurysm Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Does anyone has some experience with wilcutguitars!?! They have some really nice ones! Are there any differneces between the Vectors with brazilian Rosewood and without it? ( in terms of Sound and Feel)! Thanks, Mario
serial Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I would doubt that Brazilian rosewood would make any appreciable difference. The korina Vectors are amazing stock out of the box-they use only the best stuff (woods) for those so you're not going to get a bum one.
lord nelson Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Does anyone has some experience with wilcutguitars!?!They have some really nice ones! I bought my standard from them, and I had it in my hands a week after I sent the money. (I live in Norway). No problems
