DarrenD Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 -1988 100% fully original EC-29 with OHSC -working midboost -29 frets -ebony fretboard -neck-thru construction -Hardended steel string-thru 600T tremelo -Red Magma crackle $1100 shipped. This guitar is in excellent condition has been one of my most favorite guitars. It was Washburn's top-of-the line back in '88/'89 and the only neck-thru Stephens Extended Cutaway model ever made (SECs are mostly known as the bolt-on Nunos). A relic from the 80s hair days -- excellent mojo. This is has lately been sitting in it's case for years without playing time. I don't believe in hoarding, so here she goes.
carfish7 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Man, that is a cool flashback piece. Shred your way right to the stratosphere on that baby!Gotta ask though - are you sure that the 'board is Ebony? Looks like a beautiful slab 'o Rosewood from here, but I could be misshapen.Z
DarrenD Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Yep. I thought it was rosewood for years, but it is infact a loose grain ebony, very similar to what my fernandes revolver elite looked like -- Most likely a B grade. All the catalogs mention it is ebony also. More info here: http://www.vintagewashburn.com/Electrics/ECelectric.html Here's a better catalog pic:
atquinn Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Hmm, well go figure. And that ad also answered the question I had about body wood composition. Cool!-Austin
Punkavenger Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 That just totally cool. I'd love to see a major rock guitarist come out on stage with something like that rather than the stereotypical Strat or Les Paul.
