tafkathundernotes Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Were these available stock at one time? Some dude named O'Connor?Marble finish Chap bass
silentman Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Jim O'connr did a lot of the wacky custom graphics like marble, celestial, snakeskin...
Jack C Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I never understood why you would want your guitar to look like a kitchen countertop. As cheesy as they were, at least crackle and most graphics finishes were trying to be cool. Marble just looks like Martha Stewart refinished you guitar.
cmatthes Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 They did come into fashion in the late '80s, when custom graphics were all the rage. I owned a Blue Marble Cali and a Chap V Max with the same finish as that one on eBay now (Again, I'll be happy to buy that one back anyday!) - that finish is really a work of art up close. Unlike the "Granite" finishes, this one has a lot more delicate texturing and even has gold foil "veins" running through it for a pretty realistic effect. I dig 'em AND you can cut veggies, make a sandwich or prepare a dinner for two on one.
gatorbyte007 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 *****Jim O'Connor is the best !!!! One of his works Is The Neil zaza Spiderman Guitar That Joe now ownes. Once again great work,Very pricey.*****
