billt Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 New member here. Just picked up a 1990 Centaura a few weeks ago. The pups that came in it were factory I suppose because there were no markings on them anywhere. They weren't too stout, so I changed them out for Dimarzio Tone Zone, Fast Track, and Chopper. I also added a Tremol-no. She's in great shape considering the age. A couple of battle scars, but the beauty of this paintjob is that the scars don't show under lights. Bill
atquinn Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 That finish is definitely Stike-approved! Welcome!-Austin
Brooks Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 kickarse! i have one in black; needs new pups eventually, methinks.
zenmindbeginner Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Nice axe dude! You and Brooks can send your stock JB pups my way. I have a home for misunderstood 80's shredder humbuckers and will take good care of them.
e-isle rock Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Welcome and congrats! Beautiful guitar. Cents rock!
KH Guitar Freak Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Congrabs and welcome... Looking at the polepieces on the humbucker, it seems like they are of the allen hex variety. If so, never knew them Tone Zones can be found in this manner...
Bennyboy-UK Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Welcome aboard Shipmate! I love Centauras! I've got one in this orange stripey wood!
billt Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Thanks for the kind welcome gentlemen! And you've got a point about that humbucker! I didn't actually buy that pickup and went by what I was told. Anyway, it sounds good. I used it tonight at practice and I plan on using it all night at Friday's show.Bill
