Beautiful Hamer Sunburst with Floyd Rose

Hi,

I'm not only a newbie to this board but to Hamer guitars as well and I hope that some of the experts here can provide some infos about this beauty. The serial number is 923466. After doing some research it seems like it's a '89 Sunburst Custom reissue with a flat top and a original Hamer (made by Schaller) Floyd Rose Tremolo. According to the infos I gathered so far, those reissues were only short lived and the (only optional available) Trem and the "Natural" finish makes it pretty rare.

Can anybody confirm this? Any infos would be much appreciated! And at last the inevitable question: What could it be worth? I intend to list the guitar on Ebay later this year unless someone makes an offer I can't refuse :)

Thanks in advance!

Juergen

The flat top Sunburst was reintroduced in '89 or so and hung around maybe a year before they moved on to carved tops. The Floyds seem to be more common on these than not-I've seen very few of these with sustain blocks. Most are sunburst and the natural looks great on there. Looks like the neck pickup (maybe both) has been changed, but I don't know that that really affects value much.

I have an '89 flat top FRT Sunburst and it is a fabulous guitar (thanks Bruce919!).

I'm definitely not a whammy bar guy but there is no denying the beauty of that Sunburst Custom. I love natural finishes too!

Gorgeous!

I don't be liking cheese slicers at all, but I'll go $400 <ducks, runs, gets hit in the head with dimarzio distortion> Ouch!

Guys,

thanks for your replies so far, here are some more details about the guitar and things you might consider in case you intend to make an offer:

- The pickups are Seymour Duncan's, SH-1 '59 (Neck) and SH-4 Jeff Beck (Bridge) so I assumed that they're original but after a closer look into the electric cavity it really looks like one pickup (neck?) has been changed since the wire of the Neck-PU has a braided shielding while the wire of the Bridge-PU has the standard vinyl covering.

- There are capacitors soldered at the volume pots to avoid the treble loss when volume is turned down, don't know if those are original ?!?

- I have no original case but will include a rock solid one in ABS-style that came with the guitar.

- Another thing: I'm from Germany so the costs for insured shipping to the US are approx. $110
