crunchee Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Stike comes to mind, since he does tricky finishes like sparkle and candy flake. I've seen it mentioned online that paisley paper can be a real pain to get a clear finish over.
bubs_42 Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 I'm working with Stike on this. Just thought I would throw it out there. He has another idea that I'm working on at the moment.
stonge Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I think there were a few different threads on that topic over at the TDPRI - there were a couple of folks who got some really good results over there. I'd ultimately defer to Stike though - his PBR tele still kills me everytime I see it.edited to fix the diff between 'there' and 'they'. sometimes the hands just type what they want regardless of intent lol.
cmatthes Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Ditto what Stonge said. There are several incredibly long and detailed threads from a growing number of people on TDPRI who have perfected the paisley process. Some really cool stuff on there too!
bubs_42 Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 Holy smokes more threads than you can shake a stick at.
cmatthes Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 You start reading a thread over there, then a week later, you emerge from your computer, bleary-eyed, inspired and humbled.
zenmindbeginner Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 +1000I think that I've learned more about guitar DIY on the TDPRI than on any site on the net, including this one were I learn something new about guitars every week
