Dang.....Love that TSO Newport. Makes my mind start wondering how it would sound with those Peter Green pickups........But my rational mind then tells me they are better suited for a solid body like the Studio, where they already reside.

Dang!! I was going to buy this from you originally but it sold. I bought another just like it and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to buy an identical guitar. Sorry, man. But let me know before you go to feebay.

Actually, Django, I bet they are at least as well suited to the Newport. The Peter Green set are well in the range of the Seth Lover style PAF -- a little less rich than darkbursts or filmores, but a good balance of thickness, clarity, and mid-range bell tones. Plus, the out of phasey trick if you want it, too. I had some Voodoo 59s in this thing a few years back and they're a similar take on the PAF, and sounded great. I put the Seths back in because I had more pickups than guitars, wanted to raise a little cash, and decided the Voodoos would bring the best price on fleabay.

I swap a lot of pups -- mostly because I do NOT like JBs in a studio -- but I never tried the Peter Greens in the Newport because hollow bodies are a little extra work. It's like playing Operation always maneuvering through the F-Hole and Pickup cavities! I don't mind it, but when I experiment I tend to go the easy route and try things on a solid body first.

Anyway, if you snap and want me to Peter Green the newport, I'd do it for you. I've got a filmore I could throw in the studio, or the stock pups if someone wanted to buy it for cheaper than I've got it listed.

Yeah, this has been a strange process and I can't tell you how surprised I am that it's back on the market at THIS price. Sorry to leave you out in the cold, but I'm really hopeful it all works out and an HFCer gets the guitar. It's a really nice guitar and I much prefer it stay in the family.

Newport sold. This time I think it'll stick and it's going to a good home.

New options for the Studio -- stock pups for cheaper or I'll install a Crossroads/Filmore set of WCRs which are absolutely awesome. And lower prices.

Junior is Indian or Brazillian? Remember the contract I signed with the Ms to not buy anymore gear. I'm gonna break it soon I hope haha. Just have to move stuff. You know the old line.

I think it's indian -- don't know. It's light for indian, but it doesn't say Brazilian on the order form...
