I've been reading a lot about neck carves lately. Anyone know what the first and twelfth fret dimensions are on a Daytona?

All over the place.

What do you mean? The necks are different on every guitar with no standard measurment?

My 96 rosewood is .853 at the 1st and .886 at the 12th

My 94 maple is .861 at the 1st and .884 at the 12th

Thanks. Those two necks are very close. Can you tell the difference in a couple thousanths of an inch when you play them? It's my understanding too that the maple necks don't have fret boards. The neck and fret board are the same piece of wood. So maybe the difference is in the fret board thickness of the rosewood and not in the "heal" or back side of the neck. My Daytona has a T-51 neck. I've never held another Daytona so I have nothing to campare too.

No way

The maple neck is a one piece, but I doubt you could count on maple consistently measuring different than rosewood anymore than you could assume two maple necks would be the same.

Wow - those are close numbers. The four Daytonas I've had were significantly variant. One neck was really slim, one full and fat, and the other two what I'd guess is a medium C-ish thing. I didn't own any of them long enough to measure them though.

Funny. I was going to ask that very question too. I think I want a Strat, but I *require* chunky necks. Thanks for the replies so far!

You crack me up. No wonder you said they were all over the place. Mine is very similar to Cynics.
