He did play "Strange Ways", and similar to the discussion on the podcast a few eps ago, his solo was not a recreation of what was on the record, although it followed the feel and format of the recorded solo...The Strange Ways solo was recorded backwards, kind of hard to do it like that live...

alantig Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 "A Million To One" is an overlooked classic - glad to hear it get SKKK status.According to "Kiss Alive Forever" (which covers up to 2002), Kiss never did play this live. I think it was mentioned in stories around that time that the Live To Win tour was the live debut for it.

alantig Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Great episode on "Rip It Out" - no drummer has ever played that Anton Fig fill in the solo bit as well as Anton did. And Jamie Oldaker may have been the worst.But I think you guys have ruined "Lick It Up" for me - I listened to it yesterday for the first time since a certain sound clip was introduced, and even though I knew I was hearing "lick it up", my brain kept saying "this is supposed to be 'look it up'". And then the song kept going instead of ending after 'right now'.

Peter was given a token song with Dirty Livin'. Ace had two contributions that were listenable. If Dynasty had been released after Destroyer instead of Rock And Roll Over, that album would have been seen as the downfall it is.

The two guitarists were on risers at the front of the stage playing a harmonized part, but they were switching their fretting hands from under the neck to over the neck over and over, and I immediately thought of Mark St. John and thought, "Chris would hate this..."

alantig Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Nice! "Anything"!We went to see a Kiss tribute band called Strutter this weekend. Pretty decent. Highlight of the night - the Steeler game was on a TV behind the bar. The band had finished the main set and was offstage before the encore of "Rock And Roll All Nite". Just as the first guy edged up onto the stage, the Steelers kicked the winning field goal and the place erupted. "Paul" came up to the mic and said, "Thank you! You guys must want one more song!" And a woman right at the front of the stage yelled, "No, the Steelers just won the game!" (Which is not to say the band didn't go over well - they got a strong reception.)
