HamStd Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 With all this phantom excitement (I don't want to hijack that other wonderful thread) I just wanted to toss this out if there are actual people looking for a Phantom A5, For $414.99 plus actual shipping cost, I"ll sell this Phantom A5 : Clearly this isn't a pre-signature model (are we talking hamers or PRS here???? ). It is however: 1. Refinished-semi-pro, can be used "as is" now, but if you are like that smooth clean finish, then it should be redone. They did retain the Hamer logo so if you are patient and skilled you can get the headstock looking sweet again. 2. Of course there is no serial number as it is a re-fin. 3. The guitar was originally black finished (haven't tried to take off the finish that is on there, but you can see through the copper/gold that it is dark so it might still be there). 4. The Kahler is original (as the lack of any routing on the back). 5. Comes with the original hamer hsc, however the handle is missing. 6. No breaks or repairs to the neck. 7. Frets original and plenty of life, a few dings/dents in the lower frets, but not a bad player. 8. The pickups are original too (Hamer-slammers). 9. Original black tuners, kahler and such. Act now and I"ll toss in a bottle of Homer Fornsby stripper if you really like that natural pre-signature model look. Thanks Peter. email me at: [email protected]
BCR Greg Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Touch up the headstock back to black and that is one cool guitar.
HamStd Posted November 4, 2005 Author Posted November 4, 2005 Thanks Greg, you are right. "As is" it is ready to go and plays/sounds great. But it would take someone with your skills and patiences (You probably have a few tricks as I am sure you have done more than the average bear's share of restoring crazy refins) to get it back to its old self. As some of you know phantoms have a tone of different tonal characterisitics with the single coil and the triple pickup. The combo of neck pickup and tapped triple pickup will give any strat a run for its money....Peter.
BCR Greg Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Yup. I didn't mean to infer that it wasn't cool as is, somebody buy it dig it. Lotsa cool sounds, and they hang perfectly on a strap.
cmatthes Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 That is actually a good deal. Of course, you didn't mention the "Hamerlock tuners" (Bwahahahahhaah!)
tomteriffic Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Refin it again, green this time. Stonge will snap it up!
Hamer95USA Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Hey people, Hamstd is a good guy to do business with. Hamstd's Phantom A5 is a nice guitar and much cheaper than that "other Phantom" on E-bay. You can contact Kahler USA for the missing Kahler tremolo handle. Great deal on a cool guitar. Guitar George
HamStd Posted November 5, 2005 Author Posted November 5, 2005 Guitar George: thanks for the fine words. (That is now 15 beers I owe you right..?).I actually have the trem arm for the guitar, it was just not put on when the picture was taken.ThanksPeter
Punkavenger Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Peter's ass doesn't look as good in person as his avatar might suggest Is this yet another case of false advertising?
