Thinking of passing this one on to a next gen metalhead...

Hi folks, I hate to sign up to a forum just to "use" it for info, but I think a Hamer forum is my best bet for reliable data....

Anyway, I have an '84 Blitz Explorer I bought new. It is completely original except for strap locks. It's got LOTS of road rash, but still looks great from an audience distance, and plays & sounds awesome. Up close....well... lets say it's been around. Some may consider its "patina" a plus, others a minus. Either way, I realize pics are important, and I am happy to post some when I get a chance, but generally speaking, I was just wondering what it's value might be.... It has survived my 80's metal days and has been on countless stages, a sweet axe for sure...

Thanks for any and all thoughts/comments/input!

If we all sold guitars that just sit in cases and rarely come out we would glut the market with cool guitars.

For the record, I want your guitar. I cannot buy another guitar right now.

Ain't that the truth!

That looks perfect as-is! Honest wear, nice fading, and you can tell you at least wiped her down after use or that bridge would be MUCH uglier than it is.

Sure, it could be "un-Kahlered", but why take an all original vintage guitar and rework it? Just find another candidate like that butchered red one and go to town......

Frankly, I wouldn't dare to alter it.

But that's exactly why I cannot buy it. I wouldn't keep it! :(

I had a Blitz bass that was even more beat up than your guitar, same color...pearl white gone to a butter pecan color with use and age. Chips, dings, and weatherchecking just give it character! The only reason I don't have mine anymore is that it was just too much of a armful to play in cramped quarters, without fear of doing damage to it (like a neck break, which it didn't have amazingly enough) or something else.

Man, that is a Cool one with a lot of memories I'm sure. Guess on my part might be you could realize $550-$700 but worth way more than that in sentimental dollars. B)

PM sent. I'm a Kahler fan...

Dibs Serial. I like old-fashioned Fender type trems and would LOVE a sustain block on this, but a Kahler works just fine. :)

Hamer's proprietary hardtail bridge from the late 70s. Thru-body stringing.
