The best is the G212H cab with two Celestion Alnico Blues..$699. The cab is built with the front and back board dadoed into the surrounding top, bottom and side boards. These interlocking side joints give extreme strength to the cab which is where we often hear, "Built like a Tank" in our reviews. The speakers are rear mounted with T-Nuts. Guest pirateflynn Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Not to detract from your ad but.........what amp are you using?Good price BTW, the Blues are $400 by themselves.
MCChris Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Not to detract from your ad but.........what amp are you using? And might the speakers need some more time to break in?
JohnnyThunders Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 Yeah the speakers do need time to break in but I just sold my 12 watt Aiken Tomcat head to pick-up a combo so I don't need it the cabinet. Plus I'm just not a Blues guy, I like a brighter tighter speaker. I pick the cab as usaly late a night crusing eBay for deals...god I feel so used!
santellavision Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I got a pair of new Blues directly from Avatar for $500.
DavidE Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I got a pair of new Blues directly from Avatar for $500. WITH a speaker cab?
tomteriffic Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I got a pair of new Blues directly from Avatar for $500. WITH a speaker cab? With a damn nice speaker cab, no less?
JohnnyThunders Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 I doubt with a cab, they are $699 on his site.
tomteriffic Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 My point exactly, Gary.Gary is a pleasure to deal with, straight shooter. Somebody get this cab.
santellavision Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 No, just a pair of Blues for $475. + shipping. I haven't found a better price anywhere.
JES1680 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Sold the Tomcat? Did you get a Tomcat combo? I'm running my Tomcat with a Bogner open back 2x12 with a pair of Blues and I love it. Still got the Hurricane?
JohnnyThunders Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 I'm getting one don't have it yet. I want a small combo instead of the seperates to take out and about. Something light. Love the Tomcat and the Invader. The Hurricane is gone it was awesome but too loud for me turned up where it really cooked guy from work came over to jam trried it out and would not leave till I sold it to him. Well traded for it I got a 78 Lp Stanadard in mint shape which I trade for a Maven Peal Tuskadaro which I sold. I go thru equipment like shit thru a goose! I'm going to open a store in 2 years when I hit 55 and retire that way I can do this for a meager living instead of computers. Still got the Sunburst or is that gone in a GAS attack!
JES1680 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I wanted a Tomcat combo as well, but found a deal on a head that I couldn't pass up and it was at the time when Randall wasn't sure if he would make them anymore. Ifigured I'd better grab one. It's serial #2.Still have the sunburst. I re-fretted and have left everything else alone. I generally use it with my Invader 18 watt and get the most Van Halen like tone I've ever heard. Now if I could only play like Eddie.
cmatthes Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I have heard GREAT stuff about these cabs.JT is a GREAT guy, so how can you go wrong?!
